As scrutiny of his shady dealings began to escalate this week, Johnson resigned from Obama’s VP committee WHY?
Obama said, “Jim did not want to distract in any way from the very important task of gathering information about my vice-presidential nominee, so he has made a decision to step aside that I accept.”
MY guess this means that Jim Johnson, like Reverend Jeremiah Wright and Father Michael Pfleger, isn’t the man Obama knew.

Actually, the only accusation I have heard about Jim Johnson was that he received a good loan while he was in a position regulating the loan industry.
This is not necessarily shady. Mortgage loan terms generally are more favorable to those borrowers who appear to present less risk, and it's quite likely that someone who was trusted with a regulatory position would have to be such a solid, trustworthy citizen, and possess sufficient personal resources, that he would present far less risk than most borrowers.
Jim Johnson says that the terms of the loan in question were within industry standards. However, he felt that it would do Senator Obama's campaign no good to have a prominent participant accused of shady dealings, so he resigned to protect the campaign.
The "shady dealings" are at this point only unsubstantiated allegations.

Jim Johnson resigned because Obama promised him (according to the Hillary Clinton camp) the chairmanship of the Federal Reserve in exchange for his stepping down temporarily.
BTW, it is also on the grapevine that Bill Ayers will be Obama's Sec. of Defense. Can this really be true? If so, this is a new low for the gutter-dwelling Obama campaign.

The problem with Obama is that he's honest, so he treats others as if they're honest as well. So when people raise a stink about someone involved in the campaign, Obama responds the way an honest person would respond: by trying to remove even the appearance of impropriety.
What he's not yet getting is that these attacks will come irrespective of who he has on his campaign. The right isn't attacking Obama because there's a legitimate target there, they're attacking him because they are liars and want to destroy him personally. They would criticize him no matter who he employed, because they don't actually care about the truth. There's no one alleging that Obama is corrupt or has taken dirty money, just lots of innuendo.
The correct response to these attacks is, "Go to hell. I'll choose who I want to employ in my campaign. If you pukes don't like it, then don't vote for me. But you weren't going to vote for me anyway, so why should I care about the lies you're spreading?"

Johnson quit Obama's team lower back in June (the date of the item you linked) and became operating FNMA lower back in 1992 - 1998. you know, previously all the wacky deregulating rule alterations. at the same time as IT worked. effective attempt. 2 pts!

It seems like another friend that Nobama didn't know too well. Gosh, this continues, he won't have any friends left.
Oh, I see, once again the obamabots are closing their eyes and ears. How dare the world even think about exposing the truth about Obama, their IDOL.

He resigned because Democrats still have a residual sense of shame.
A Republican would have stayed on the Committee until his appeals ran out and he had to surrender to the Marshalls.
