Im looking for music to play at my wedding. Im into alt rock ( 90's rock) anyone know of any good songs?

Ok, so im really big into Nirvana, Smashing pumpkins, and Pearl jam. If its a band from the early nintys i really like. And im getting married in 2 months and my wife to be has left me up to selecting all the music for the reception and the "after party" im having a really hard time trying to find music that will fit my need. I dont want all the typical wedding music that you'd hear at 99-100 weddings.

Update:

I'm looking for some good music to play at my wedding. Im not into the main stream type songs that you hear every wedding you go to. Im not fond of two much county some is ok. For our first dance iv choose a song by And then i turned seven called under the stars. It doesnt have to be rock im just looking for love songs that most people wouldnt play.

Update 2:

I have contacted all the DJ's in the area and none of them will do a wedding but one and when i went and met with the guy he played nothign but rap execept one bob marly song..im going to have a live band there too and they are like a 80's rock cover band which is pretty cool..but i need something else the band wont be able to play all nite long the party will be about 5-10 hours with more beer then i'v ever seen in one area before. The age group will be from like 17-30...

I'm going to point out the obvious... unfortunately, you can choose the absolute BEST play list of awesome music that's all about what you're in to. The problem is that you won't get people dancing in the after party. You don't have to go tacky (Chicken Dance or YMCA anyone?) But DJs know that to get everyone up and dancing... they have to know and love the music.

As an aside, my brother recommended Vitamin String Quartet for music during appetizers/dinner. I downloaded whatever I needed on LimeWire. Check out their albums on Amazon. The string quartet does amazing covers of popular rock songs. For instance, Led Zeppelin, Coldplay, Evanescence, Linkin Park, Panic! at the Disco, System of a Down, etc. Really classy, yet still rock.

    Here's my dance mix:

If you're looking for a change in rock or metal try mixing it up with the subgenres or what some of the main influences are behind the music. Melodic-death folk metal, experimental jazz and so on. Finntroll is a popular choice in the USA for folk metal however there are great pagan acts such as Eluveitie or Moonsorrow (epic). If vocals make you tired then go for pure guitar with some classics like Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert, or hit stuff from when metal was just being born. You know, rock and metal are the children of blues so try something new.

Although that is your favorite music...it is hardly danceable and most of your guest will not enjoy being lam-blasted out of the reception hall! Think of the variety of ages of people you will have present. If you want to select *a few* of your favorite songs...that's OK, however, you will be spending most of your time with your guest and most likely will not even know what was played at the end of the night. A professional D.J. will be able to work the dance floor and keep your party going just as it should while you are enjoying your family and friends....Save "your" selections for later at the reception after most of your guest have gone home. You should really work with a professional entertainer to help you with these decisions! ....in conclusion...hire a D.J. or you might be sorry!

    Best Wishes!
