How can my friend avoid alimony?

OK, I was asked to find information online and haven't been able to. If a couple is divorcing and he didn't work much outside the home, does she have to pay alimony to him if she allows almost all assets to go to him? Isn't there something called "uneven division of property"?

Update:

They have been married 30 + years, they live in Oregon and he has worked off and on through their marriage. He would want their house BAD. She is hoping if he got it then she wouldn't have to pay alimony. He also gets Social Security every month, she doesn't draw yet.

depends on the state, how long they have been married and if she's been his sole support for most of the marriage.
