Is it worth joining AAA for the Disney World ticket discount?
My family (there will be 5 of us) are going to Disney World July 12 for 10 days. I'm currently not a member of AAA but is the discount worth the price of membership? We are staying off site in a near by city and already have our flight and hotel reservations. The only thing that I guess I would be interested in is park ticket discounts and discounts inside the theme parks. We are also planning to go to Universal Studios. Thanks!

Assuming that you live in the US or Canada, keep in mind that a AAA membership can be used for discounts, travel info (including books and maps) and roadside assistance once you get back home. Many local businesses may give a discount to AAA members both in Orlando and at home.

Many AAA's don't offer a discount on WDW tix. By the time you add the tax that AAA charges back in to the price (you don't pay tax on top of the ticket price through Disney) it ends up costing the same. It would have been beneficial (possibly) if you had booked a package throught hem, but you're probably getting a better deal staying off property in a neighboring town- that's what we do and we get super deals. Your other option for ticket discounts is to go online to a Disney consolidator- we saved about $11 per ticket that way- not a lot, but $55 extra for your family. (ours were for the 6 day tickets) Check your local AAA beanch before joining and ask what kind of Disney deals they have on tickets and check that against either the WDW site or the Disney Consolidators which you can google and find online.. they simple send your tickets via snail mail. Have a great time!!! We just got back a couple weeks ago from a week there.

I agree with Lauren. The cost to join AAA is minimal compared to all the discounts you get.
Not only park discounts, but car rental, some restaurants, UPS shipping, Safeway online, even some clothing stores will give you at least a 10% discount.
Here's a list:

Plus, of course, there's the peace of mind of knowing there will be help if there's a problem while on the road. I recommend getting the Plus membership. It's $75/annually, and provides towing up to 100 miles.

i have a AAA membership and i went online to www.disneyworld.com to price the trip then went to AAA and they used the same site to plan my trip there was no discount as far as the price of flight, hotel, dining plan, and tickets, however they do have discounts for parking, and if you booked it though them you got a free photo at one of the parks, a story time reading from a character at magic kingdom, and buy one get on free minnie gulf and on planet hollywood in downtown disney. we didn't use half of the offers so i don't really think its worth it if you are just getting it for the sake of your disney trip but there are many other places to use a AAAmembership like for road side assistance, and it gets you discounts a some stores and restaurants where you live. so in that respect i would get a membership. it costs $50 for a year.
by the way what is the name of the city you'll be staying in because when we don't stay on disney property we stay in Davenport there are 3 hotels clustered as soon as you turn off the exit.

Not sure about joining AAA for Disney World ticket discounts but are interested in discounts so...
Try Disney World Tickets or Florida Orlando Tickets, they both offer great discounts to Walt Disney World's theme Parks, spectacular dinner shows and other Florida attractions. Choose from “Magic Your Way” 1-7 and 10 day base tickets, Park Hopper and flex tickets. Attractions include Disney World, Universal Orlando, Kennedy Space Center, Water Parks, Magic Packs, Pleasure Island and more. If you want to see it all and save try flex tickets. Pricing is comparable and affordable too. They both offer delivery or pick up just check which service is best for you.
My suggestions: either go with the flex pass if you want to see it all or base tickets. With base tickets you can see one theme park for one day, why pay more for Park Hopper when you can see other theme parks another day.
Disney World Tickets also partners with Orlando and Kissimmee Hotels to give you amazing internet special rates. To help you save money you can compare Orlando and Kissimmee Hotels, see which provides free shuttle service to Disney World, free breakfast buffets, does the hotel offer children eat free program, also look at free parking. Some hotels may even offer a discount of Disney World Tickets.
You can receive additional discounts on tickets on Disney World and other Florida attractions with DW Savers Club.
With Florida Orlando Tickets Disney's Fastpass service is included with all Walt Disney World Tickets.
Tips and suggestions: think about how many days you'll be there, make a plan for each day and stick to it, compare ticket prices and hotels, have a good breakfast and bring a light snack and most of all Have Fun!
I hope that helps and answers your question.

AAA has awesome discounts for everything! My family has had it for a few years now and it is very beneficial! I'd say join even if the discount on Disney isn't a lot, you can use it another time
