What kind of fish is this?
I was given this fish its black and gold and green on the top a little. I know that its not a very good picture but its the best I could get right at the moment.
Thats what I thought it was it has a huge tank already. Its plenty big enough I think its 75 gallons. If he needs a bigger one I have a 150 gallon one not in use at the moment.
My father in law has had it for quite a while now the only things that it has not eaten is a gold fish that is his size and two alge eaters. He fed him fish food and sometimes gave him small feeder fish. He has grown about 2 inches scince he got him and he has had him for like 6 months. He is a PIG! I love him though but I was given the tank and all the fish but I was wanting to get a few more fish but I guess I should stick with BIG goldfish.

Your oscar would do well on a diet of flake or pellet food with live food being crickets or earthworms. A diet of feeder fish can introduce parasites and diseases into your tank and is not nutritionally complete at all.
They will live with other central/south american cichlids if you have the space, goldfish don't make good tankmates as although they may too big to be eaten they will suffer the constant attacks by the cichlids, which goldfish aren't really equipped to "watch" for the same way other cichlids are. It will cause them great stress and probably lead to premature death in animals that should live 20-30 years or more.

That is an oscar. Below is a link about them and care. The bare minimum tank size for one oscar is 55 gallons, with 75 gallons preferable. They grow very large.
Enjoy, they are very delightful fish if you can accommodate their large size.

yep, that's an oscar, looks like a tiger oscar.
big mean eating machines they are. get to a good 12"-16" and don't like ANY tankmates, really needs a minimum of a 75 US gallon tank just for the one beast.

ouch you might have a tiger oscar. i really hate those they attack almost every other fish (those would be my fish) and need a 75 gallon tank minimum. You might want to try snails my friend has a black nocturnal mystery snail with his baby oscar and the oscar doesn't harm the snail.

This is a Oscar. You feed these type of fish live food. Both of my sons each have them.
