Basic dial up connection question?

I feel silly, but is it possible to get a laptop to dial out from a different location and connect? >>>The computer I am fixing is owned by someone else with a different phone number. Can I bring the computer to my house and still connect with the same service, without charges to MY number?

It will use your phone connection yes, but you won't pay for the actual online service as long as the other person has a dial-up service.

Sure - but you are going to have to know a few things:

    1) Obviously the telephone number she dials into.

    2) The names of the servers to connect to.

    3) The person's user name and password.

You should be able to set it up manually from double clicking the modem icon in the Control Panel.
