Is it true that if you drop a piano down a pitshaft you will get A Flat Minor?

    Not necessarily. You could get an A flat major, depending on age and military rank of person the piano squashed.

    A study on this was done by the physicist/musicologist team Laurel and Hardy. Their work was summerized in the documentary film 'The Music Box'. I believe it is the definitive work on the subject.

    Somebody should tell the miner that if he doesn't see sharp, he'll be flat.

    Of course, this concept is intuitive for a natural miner.
