If your computer has a divided hard-drive - so you have your c drive - where you probably keep all your documents and stuff...and then your d drive, which is like splitting your hardrive into two so that it can run more efficiently....what you could do is move stuff from your d drive to your c- drive....

If your hard drive is not split in two then most likely your D drive is your cd/dvd player....

You need to delete all stuff in your recycle bin.

    Delete all temporary files...

Actually, just click on 'my computer'

right side click on your d drive

    then click 'disk clean up'

That should make some more space.

Your D drive is often times the CD/DVD drive but not always.

These days, most computer manufacturers have the Primary hard drive partitioned into two separate drives. One for the operating system ( C: ) and one for data ( D: ).

Defragmentation will not give you more space. Well, not anything noticeable.

The best way to clear up space is to delete files on the drive that you are no longer using.

But, other times computer manufacturers use the D drive as a recovery drive and purposely only leave about 5% of space free so you don't save anything there.

to find out what the D drive is on your computer... right click start, click My Computer, on the right hand side of the window you should have categories like:

    Files Stored on This Computer

    Hard Disk Drives

    Devices with Removable Storage

    Scanners Cameras

    Find (D:) drive

-if (D:) is Local Disk then it's a hard drive (msg you got means, system does not have enough work space on D drive to defragment, you will need to move files off of it then try defragment again.)

-if its a CD/DVD drive (Devices with Removable Storage), then stop/close/end defragment program.

dunno what is on your D drive, so i can't tell you what's ok and not ok to delete.

in case you're conversing approximately restoration factors, bypass to commence > all courses > upload-ons > equipment approaches > disk cleanup there'll be a tab for "greater recommendations". click this tab and there's a button to delete all restoration factors excep the final one. in case you're desirous to easily delete entire backups you need to bypass into your explorer (or my computer) right click on the subsidized up rigidity (C: ?) and decide properties. decide on the "approaches" tab and click "backup now". A window pops up with a dash option to go into progressed mode (or you will bypass to progressed mode without delay counting on your settings) the two way you prefer progressed mode. click the "restoration and handle media" tab, and you need to have the means to variety with the aid of all your backups from there. good success!
