I have just bought a Wii machine and very pleased. How can I connect by wireless to BT Internet UK and cost ?

I did not realise it could connect through the internet when I purchased but it is not close to my computer for a wired connection. If I can connect I know I may have to buy a wireless connector - (1) Is it costly? (2) Where would I purchase the item in the UK? and (3) Will I have to pay an additional fees to BT - my ISP? Thanks for any advice.

I am not in the UK, so these are general answers from my own experience in the US.

    1. No not costly, I believe my Linsky's wireless router was about $50.00 USD

    2. I don't know, but likely available at the same store you would shop at for a computer or printer.

    3. Your ISP cannot tell that you are connect via a wireless router, so you would be charged in the same manner as you are now.

Now...if you purchase one, please allot ample time to set it up and get it going. I spent enough time on the phone with an Indian gentleman over a bad telephone connection to drink a 6 pack. I was ultimately successful and haven't had any issues since.

Hi, wii's are ace I've just this minute been playing paper mario and it's very good :) You HAVE to get mario kart as well, it's brilliant for playing online! All we use is a usb wifi connector which we got from hmv or game but you can get them cheaper online now, we paid £30 for it.

All you do is plug it in, connect your computer to the wii (set up the network, there's a wizard that does it all for you after you've installed the disc that comes with it) and then you're off, you may have to tweak it a bit at first, but it's all pretty simple. After that it connects to your existing internet connection on your pc, so it doesn't cost anything extra.

Oh but then again I think if you already have a wireless router for your pc the wii can connect straight to that, you would just need to look into the connection settings on the wii and off you go :)

here's one i found straight away, I reckon if you search a bit more there'll be loads.
