Young Earth creationism? How do you explain these findings?
I heard many Christians say the earth is only about 6 thousand years old, regardless of what science says. How do you explain a Major Dinosaur Fossil Discovery which would show there was life on earth some 150 millions years ago?
By the way, I am Christian, I believe Jesus Christ is my savior. I just cannot believe that the earth is only 6 thousand years old.
Why would satan want to create dead dinosaur bones? How would dead dinosaur bones possibly keep a person from believing in God?
Ew, gross! Interesting article. Thanks for sharing it!!

Geologic dating is not exact. There are instances of dinosaur and human footprints together. Creation scientists (don't laugh; remember, evolution [http://emporium.turnpike.net/C/cs/cartoon.htm] IS still just a theory [http://emporium.turnpike.net/C/cs/top.htm]) can show where the flood [http://www.earthage.org/EarthOldorYoung/scientific... was worldwide with identical sediment deposits on different continents.

From what i have read, the current belief is that the great flood created the fossils, giving the impression that they are millions of years old. This goes on the idea that a tremendous amount of weight on sand and bone (such as a huge flood over the earth) will create stone faster than it would occur naturally . It also goes on the basis that carbon dating is not accurate when you hit about 3000 years or so. Basically, creationist want you half believe in science to explain the dinosaur fossils, but then not believe in some science (carbon dating) to fit their time frame. Selective belief; use what you need, then discredit the rest.
Source(s): Addition: TO those who keep asking how scientist came up with the date of 150 millions years: called radiometric dating. I find it funny that you scoff at science, but yet gee, a book says the earth is 6000 years old, so IT MUST BE TRUE! - Anonymous1 decade ago
I think you'll find this new discovery interesting too.
"FINDING MORE DINOSAUR SOFT SPOTS"
Here's a link:
http://cosmiclog.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2007/07/24/...
And here's an excerpt: A couple of years ago, paleontologists were stunned to find that the soft tissue of a 70 MILLION-YEAR-OLD!! dinosaur was preserved within a fossil from a Tyrannosaurus rex. Such a thing had never been seen before. The discovery opened the door to all sorts of speculation about reconstructing dinosaur DNA, just as it was in the fictional "Jurassic Park" tales."
Added "... Seventy million years ago, a killing drought was followed by torrential rains, which sent waves of mud and wet sand to cover up dead and dying dinosaurs. "You can imagine it's like a milkshake rolling down the mountain," Kristi Rogers told me."
Doesn't this sound similar to the Biblical account of the Great Flood?
Edit: No problem.

First you should ask yourself where the "150 million years" date came from in the first place.
Your response will probably be "the geologic column, and they know its age." So how do they know the age of the column? If you think it was radiometric dating, you might be surprised. How were the dates already "known" in the 1800s long before the discovery of radiometric dating? I'll give you some names to look up to help: Charles Lyle, James Hutton...
Lets see, evidence of a major worldwide flood would leave a lot of evidence. I would expect to find billions of dead things buried in rock layers layed down by water all over the earth... now if we can only find evidence of this....

There are thousands of scientific facts that support a young Earth, a global Flood, and intelligent design. An excellent book to read, which is also inexpensive to get, is "The Evolution Cruncher" by Vance Ferrell. It reads like an encyclopedia and contains thousands of these facts. I think you would find it a fascinating read.

i believe the earth is only about 6 thousand years old. the opening of the 7th seal (see revelations) started in the year 2000. but the earth could be older. personally though, i think scientists way of figuring out how old fossils are and stuff is kinda like...way off.

If I were to make a loaf of bread, how old is that bread?
What if the butter had been made and then frozen 6 months ago?
What if the egg was laid last week
What if the wheat was ground 2 months ago
What if the wheat was grown and harvested 8 years ago?
So how old is that loaf, really?

You should seriously watch a Kent Hovind video on Youtube. He is a crazy young earth creationist who has ridiculous explanations for this stuff. It's really funny.

Ahhh. The great "Archaeologists." They say that the bones are 150 million ka-trillion years old. ----And how do they know that. Let me guess...they guess! Did the bones come with tags on them saying that they were 150 million years old? No ma'am. They sure didn't. It is just a "reasonable assumption" to them. Why? Because they already believe the Earth is BILLIONS of years old. When NASA experts wanted to land Neil Armstrong on the moon their greatest fear was the cosmic dust. They thought that the moon was 4.5 billion years old, thus thinking that the spacecraft would sink into the dust that collected there over time. However, when Armstrong landed and got out and went to root the American flag in the moon, they expected it to land easily, because the moon supposedly had "billions" of years of dust accumulated on it. What a surprise when the flag did not budge when he tried to hammer it down. Why? Because the supposed billions of years of accumulated dust just wasn't there. It was only dust for merely thousands of years. So that was another stump back for evolutionists. Well God bless you dear.
