A question for Twilight fans, or other vampire 'experts'?
In Twilight, Edward says vampire marriage 'works just like human marriage' when Bella asked him about it. However, vampires don't have a pulse, so how do they have sex? Remember, increased blood flow is necessary for a man to get an erection, which in turn is necessary for him to have sex with a woman, so what gives?

In traditional vampire lore, vampires were never sexualized. They were bloodless monsters a la Nosferatu. Then, after the long armed influence of Dracula in novel form hit pop culture, vampires kept most of their traditional aspects involving blood drinking and death while taking on newer traits such as seduction and hypnotism, which is why this little contradiction is formed.
In other words, they couldn't have sex, logically.

As a lover of paranormal romance I can tell you it is entirely up to the author. Anne Rice's male vampires, for example, can't have erections, yet her vampires are very sensual and her narrative does have a very sensuous "feel" to it. Other authors, like J.R. Ward, have vampires that are born vampires (from vampire parents) and well, they are quite able to do the deed. It entirely depends on the how the author wants that aspect to be depicted (and explained).

You have to remember that Stephenie Meyer will not go into specifics when they do have sex. She won't really explain it to us.
Twilight is supposed to be kept at a PG-13 level.
After Breaking Dawn comes out go to the twilightlexicon.com.
They usually discuss any question.

Sucker 4 Vampires! is right... that could be a loop hole, actually. I don't know, I'm not the author.
Hehe, what an awkward question.
