This is no different to when the Danes said NO to something, the French said no to this and Dutch said NO to this. You don't expect democracy from the EU do you?
The more I see of the Brussels dictatorship at work the more I am reminded of the Nazi government in Germany during the War, the only difference now is that they are bribing the national politicians with our money to sell our countries.
I suspect when the dust clears the Fascists will come out of the woodwork and be seen as the architects of the EU. OH! and any country where the people do accept this will no doubt have EU troops stationed on their soil to keep them in order, just as the Romans did 1700 years ago.

Because it was the wrong answer!
No other member states are going to allow a popular vote, because they might also come up with the wrong answer.
It does show just how far out of touch the "leaders" are from their populations, but since the machinery of government does not need referenda to pass laws, the so-called democracies have either to live with it, or resort to other means to show their objections. Unfortunately, it is all too easy for a legislature to be taken over by a single organised party, which represents a considerable abuse of the electoral process.

Because the likes of Gordon Brown is trying to get round the will of the majority of the Irish people who have spoken out for rest of us!They certainly spoke up for me!I wanted to vote on the issue as well!

Well, you see....the Irish are a foisty people! Bless 'em!
They are also a 'Thoisty' people! Ha Ha!
It turns out that if we let the 'thoisty' Irish people lead public opinion in Europe, we will all end up listening to 'diddly' music and gettin' pissed sure we will.
Therefore, we have found some profoundly tedious Belgians to try and pretend that the referendum didn't actually happen in any meaningful sense.
In other words...it was like something in a manifesto.
Now that the universal understanding is that words mean fuc* all....let us all move forward in a spirit of unity.
We are all Europeans...so bollocks to it.

it scandulous for it to be questioned, basically it wasn't the answer they wanted so they are going to do what they want anyway.
i find somewhat scary it's like "here you go you can vote, but it won't make a blind bit of diffrence cuz we will do as we like anyway!"
i am so angry with the goverment right now!!!
