Another Harry Potter Question?
Why are Girls allowed up in the boys rooms but the stairs to the girls rooms are enchanted to keep boys off? Kids can be just as "naughty" in the boys rooms as the girls.

Because the Hogwarts founders trusted the girls to go up to the boys' rooms without the intention to, um, ride the broom. As where boys would ususally go up there just to get some, in any century I guess.

In the book it explains that boys were not as trusworthy as the girls . Thas why boy aren't allowed to go the Girls Dorms.

It says in the book then, umm, I think it's because girls were trusted more than guys in the olden times (when Hogwarts was new.) and guys were less trusted, y'know, guys are naughty, lol, I think you get what I mean. haha.
Umm...yeah, I think it's basically because that girls were trusted more than guys, they were (and still are!) more mature than guys.
That's actually scientifically (sp?) been proven, that girls are more mature than boys. Something to do with hormones and brain. =P
x hope that helps x

a boy is less trustworthy and would want to sneak up to be with a girl. if the girl didnt like it, steriotypically it would be harder for a girl to fight off a boy than the other way around

Hmmmm....good question. Maybe because it's more likely that boys sneak into girl's rooms

Boys would be more tempted into going into a girls dorm where chicks are more trustable and more dignified and wouldnt go sneaking into a dorm. Well i know i wouldnt anyway!!

According to Hermione, it says in "Hogwarts, A History" that the founders thought that girls were more trustworthy than boys.
I don't remember what book... I want to say the fourth one, though.

I can't give an exact quote, but even Hermione stated that it was an outdated stereotype.
Boys are thought to be much naughtier; girls are seen as more trustworthy.
It's a double-standard that no one bothered to change.

Yea, I always wondered that. I guess cause guys could be more perverted and sneak in doing who knows what, where as girls intentions are a bit less... obvious.
Good question though. :P

Guys are more tempted. Girls are sometimes creeped out by them.
