(Spoiler Alert) What did you think of the movie "The Happening"??
I thought it was lame. Predictable & poor acting. The characters had no depth. It also seemed rushed, as tho put together quickly with not enough time to write in more details. Another Bomb for the director, which is sad cuz he really succeeded with 6th sense & signs.
the guy who was calling the wife was actually Shamaylan, if u look at the credits. And i agree that the IDEA for the movie was great, i just think it was poorly executed! Had great potential, but fell short. :(

It was disappointing...not as disappointing as "The Village," though.
The idea for the film was pretty neat, but the film was poorly executed.
I agree with you, the acting was awful. Zooey Daschnel (sp?) was so monotonous and unbelievable.
I absolutely despise endings which are "Just when you thought it was over..."

M.Night fell off since signs. I really thought he was the last of the great suspense directors left but this movie was terrible. I am sorry I am no way a director but c'mon the scenes were comical with no suspense. I mean I think foreign horror.suspense is the way to go these days. Frankly the scary movies are dead and I sit here waiting like everyone else waiting for one to just come out and reconstruct this genre.

So, my two theories: considering the original project name for this was 'The Green Effect,' it's possible Shyamalan meant for the film to have a blunt environmental point. If this is the case, I'm severely disappointed in his storytelling abilities.
But, here's my theory. At the beginning of the film, a boy in the classroom has his own theory about what happened to the bees. He says something to the effect that maybe it was an act of nature that can't be explained by science. I think perhaps Shyamalan was making a point with his filmmaking and storytelling, that the point is being in the story, in the moment, and not knowing the 'why' of everything. Surely my girlfriend, two friends, and I all had intense discussions about what the movie was about, but we always came up with more questions than answers.

Awful movie. The idea had great potential but they completley ****** it up. The characters were the worst part. The whole story line with the husband and wife was a mess. What was the point of the whole mysterious guy that kept calling her. It added nothing to the movie. This movie was more of a comedy than anything.

I haven't even seen it and I think he could of made up a better plot other then something going around through the air and killing people.
Seriously though wtf?
Oh and signs and 6th sense was both good movies. I also loved the village.
He could of made a story that goes like this-
One day little maybelle wakes from her sleep. she sees a bright light outside and wonders what it is. she is curious so she approaches it. she then gets sucked into it and no one ever saw her again.

yeah it did kinda suck.
i was really excited to go see it but i was really disapointed. i agree the acting really sucked. and thats weird cuz the director wrote the movie with mark in mind to play the lead role. but he didnt make it work. haha

I absoutley thought it was funny. Especially that old lady who went frantic thinking they were going to kill her. She was one crazy girl. But I thought it was for the most part, very wel put together. I liked the acting so I am going to have to disagree with you.

i thot the ending made no sense. trees dont kill ppl. and its only good if u have a case of the slopes aka ur a slopehead who only can analyze a movie to the fullest and get every detail

If they had stuck w/ the terrorist story, it woulda been ten times better!! and gotten good actors. . . I mean, holy crap! Not Mark Wahlberg's best performance! Idk how to spell his name, but he did good in the movie Shooter. . .idk. That director just sux now that he decided to take the job of everything!
