My mom is looking for a fuel efficient vehicle.?
She needs a vehicle that has a HUGE trunk. It also has to be really good on gas because of the gas prices going up so much, it cost almost $90 to fill up her van yesterday!!!!! It also has to be a car that isn't brand new because she can only afford a used car! I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of a vehicle like that when we talked we thought that the dodge journey was pretty good but the only problem is that its brand new, any help would be great!!! Thanks :)

How about the Ford Five-Hundred. It has a trunk larger than the Lincoln Town Car, Mercury Grand Marquis, and Ford Crown Victoria (Taxi Cab, Chauffeur Cars.) In terms of gas mileage, the Highway MPG is around 26MPG. In terms of Power, Looks, Fit and Finish, Reliability, and Resale Value, the Ford is pretty good. For Power, the engine is slightly underpowered, but nothing too major. In the looks department, it may have exterior styling best described as "anonymous", but when you reach the interior, you will notice fine amenities such as leather interior, wood trim, and all power options. Fit and Finish is very good for a car in this segment; there may be some materials that don't stand out as well as the more expensive Toyota Avalon, but overall, they receive a "Good." In terms of reliability, the Ford competes with the big-shot brands such as Toyota and Honda. When yo are talking about resale value, the Ford receives an "Average." Though with this said, it makes it more affordable for people in the market for a large, fuel efficient car.

Here is list of other cars to look at with their gas mileage:
1) Chevrolet Impala- 18/28
2) Toyota Avalon- 20/28
3) Honda Accord (2003-2007)- 21/31
4) Nissan Maxima- 18/26
5) Acura TL- 18/28

Hello,
There are several factors to consider always before purchasing a vehicle. These relate to fuel.
1. Fuel type - LPG is the best (economical)
2. Size of engine - 1600cc/1.6 is more eco-friendly than 3.0
3. Size of vehicle - Car rather than a truck
4. How many miles do you get to the litre
5. Can the driver control the revving properly
6. Changing gear at the right time
Fact : Did you know that changing gear could reduce fuel
Fact : Less Revving = Less Co2.
Diesel is more ecomonical than Petrol, but LPG is more economical than diesel.
LPG : A Gas tank is fitted underneath the car
The vehicle's engine starts on Petrol, but after about five seconds or so, an amber light will appear and the vehicle is then running on LPG. These systems can be factory fitted with a full warranty, or fitted by experts independantly after purchasing the vehicle.
If I bought a truck in America, I would possibly go for the Ford Ranger as it is popular in England aswell.

I would highly reccomend a Ford Five Hundred front-wheel drive sedan. With the front-wheel drive, the car is rated to get 21 mpg city and 29 mpg highway. The most amazing thing about this car is the trunk- it's huge (21.2 cubic feet!). I don't know if you remember the old Ford Crown VIctoria or Mercury Grand Marquis with the trunk that looked like it stuck 10 ft off the back of the car, but this car has more cargo space than it (Crown Vic rated at 20.6 cubic feet)! Also being that it's a used vehicle you can get one with fairly low mileage and lots of great options like leather oir a back-up sensor system and it'll still only run you maybe $15k. Keep in mind that if you live in a snowy climate these vehicles are also available with all-wheel drive, but that brings the gas mileage down to about 17 mpg city and 25 mpg highway (still good for a large AWD sedan). I hope you find thid helpful and good luck!

Get a Ford Escape Hybrid. You can get these used, they have great cargo space and they get great gas mileage because they're a hybrid.
I have a regular Ford Escape and it only costs me about $45 to fill it up (at Costco, where gas is LESS than $4 a gallon). I can go two weeks on a tank of gas, but then I don't drive 100 miles a day.

The 2008 Accord has achieved full size car status by EPA standards and still gets 31MPG highway (based on the new 2008 standard). Very roomy, a great alternative to a gas guzzling van or SUV.

You can't beat the Toyota Prius. It is an electric vehicle and changes to petrol after 50mph. Here it is: http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/adve...

Even though people dont think Chevy is fuel efficient, it is. There are 30 chevy models that get 30 mpg or more. The Tahoe is rated best in its class for fuel efficiency. Check this sight out:
