Is it possible to buy live "feeder mice" for my cats from a pet shop?
I've been reading online that a raw, live diet is so much better for cats and live mice have the most complete nutrition for a cat, it's a food source that bests suits the cat if it were in the wild. Live food provides calcium because the bones are soft, taurine and phosphorus, also important. Cats are meant to eat small animals, not "meat flavored cereal" and ash, as most commercial cat foods are.
Will a pet shop sell me live mice to feed to my cats? (It has to be live, or the bones don't stay soft.)

Well, I'm not going to lie... that is rough to hear/read. But, that aside, just go and buy some mice at the store and don't tell them what they are for. It is just like buying mice for snakes. But please be nice enough to thump the mice before giving them to your cats. They can bite a cat up pretty well and you run the risk of them getting away and into your house. If you kill them fresh before giving them to the cats, the bones will not "get hard".

Just go to a pet store that sells mice. Try to find the cheap. You don't have to say what they are for. Having a cage and some food and a water bottle are a good idea if you want to get a few and not feed them all at once. You will need a place to feed the mice. They are fast and hard to catch.
If you will be giving live mice often consider getting a male and female and breeding them. You will only get 6-8 a month from one female. Do a bit of research about breeding before you start.

what do you mean the bones dont stay soft? They dont get hard either... if you properly thaw out a mouse in the correct condition they are the same as if they were alive. Besides the bones are the problem if they are soft. Most cats dont want to eat the bone anyway.... Also feeding only mice to a cat is not a proper diet. They need other things, are you really going to just set a live mouse on your floor and say here kitty eat it.... your house is going to be over run quite quickly with little cute mice. I suggest feeding a BARF or Raw Diet and if you want to add the live mice as a game thats up to you but dont feed them exclusively live mice. In the Wild Feral and wild cats just dont eat mice. They eat EVERYTHING including plants.

You could just pick up some mice. You don't have to say you are going to feed them to your cat. Most pet shops sell small mice, so you could go and get some any time.

I hope you have done the proper research on this. Anyway, here's a site that can help you understand more about giving your cat "feeder mice".

feeder mice are normally just for snakes.
plus if your cats go outside they will catch their own mice

The cat will get his or her own raw, live diet from catching mice outside the home. There is no need to supplement this by artificially procuring these poor animals unless you're a sadist and doing it for your own entertainment rather than a genuine desire to provide your cat with a 'natural' diet.
The natural way is for your cat to catch mice outside. (S)he doesn't need your help.

Sure. They usually sell them for snakes to eat, but what do they care what you're feeding them to? Go for it and have happy kitties. Call the pet shop first to make sure they have some available for you.

1] there not ment for house cats, only ferral cats catch them in the wild
2] I don't think that house cats should have live mice in their diet
