Callas can look good as part of a centerpiece but they don't do well in bouquets. There are so many flowers that you don't have to decide between only these two; why not visit your florist and let her show you photos or samples of what she has in the shop. You'll find wonderful things to chose from. I have a friend whose D-I-L has a florist shop and she told me a year ago they pay $15 per calla - much more expensive than roses.

    Calla Lillies And Roses

    Where is the wedding?

I ask because I had my wedding in a rose garden - so of course I had to add roses to the bouquets!

Both roses and calla lillies have been 'overdone', but it doesn't make them less beautiful. You could easily do a bouquet with both as some people have mentioned.

Otherwise what is the style of the wedding? If it is modern and 'in' then possibly calla lillies would be nice. If it is more timeless or 'old-fashioned' I would definately use roses.

Also, as others have mentioned, how much can you afford? Calla lillies are more expensive than roses...

I personally think calla lillies are wayyyyyy over done. They are beautiful and I do like them as well, but noticed so many people now days using them so I opted not to. I went with roses but according to others those are over done as well. I didn't think so personally, I think roses are a classic. They are romantic, come in so many shades, and are just simply timeless. SO my vote is for roses but this is something you will really have to decide on your own.

Callas are going to cost more, roses a little less but still pricey. If you can't decide have a mix of the two but use more roses to keep the price down.

roses are so beauitful and should be in every wedding- they symbolize love and purity among other feelings. They have a very classic feel to them as well. Calla Lillies are more modern looking but can look classic. Although many people have been following the trend of doing calla lillies. pricing: roses are mostly available throughout the year but especially during the summer months. resulting in lower prices and more options.

calla lillies are pretty expensive but you can find an ok deal when they're in season.

It would be absolutely beatiful to have white roses and then a few mini white calla lillies as accents. it would be classic and traditional yet modern and classy - you would have a pretty good price since roses are less expensive and adding a few expensive lillies would give it that extra pop.

I am getting married next year and I am hoping to have calla lillies. I love calla lillies. If you are using real flowers the calla lillies will be significantly more expensive than roses. If you are using fake than you shouldn't see to big of a price difference.

Calla Lilies are more expensive. The larger ones (from what I've seen when shopping around) only come in one color-white. Callas are considered 'wedding' flowers, so therefore the price almost doubles (I had considered using them in my wedding but when I saw the bill I decided on something else).

Roses are less expensive than the Callas, but they are still pricier than most. They do have the added benefit of coming in a large variety of shades, though, so this does make a difference.

Even though most people use them, out of those two based on price and selection, I would have to choose the Roses. Personally, I prefer Alstroemeria, but that's me.

I love calla lillies and white roses. I am planning to use them both in my bouquet and in the mother's corsages. My attendant bouquets will have calla lillies and star lillies, but I haven't decided if I want the hand tied or cascade style. If you only want one, choose the calla lily.

I had a bunch of hand-tied calla lillies for my bouquet and my girls had bunches of other flowers. I love callas. They lasted the whole day and a single calla lilly looks great for the groom.
