when i worked at david's bridal, and bride's asked this question, we would explain it this way: lots of girls for various occasions get to wear tiaras - princesses, prom queens, pagaent winners, but there is only one person who can wear a veil - and that is a bride. it is your special day and looking back at pictures you will be glad you chose a veil!!!

I always knew I was going to wear a veil - no question! BUT I had a garden wedding so I was tossing up whether to use a birdcage or not (which I love!) I eventually figured that I am the bride only once and I will never get the chance to wear the full veil again... so I went with the traditional veil! I will have to get myself a birdcage for the races or something instead!!!

And it made for some gorgeous photos! http://www.flickr.com/photos/25906286@N04/24325796...

I will be... A fingertip length veil. I tried my dress on a few times without one and it just didn't feel the same, I felt like the veil pulled it together.

Yes. I bought a veil at a craft store and did bead work on it with crystal beads. It made it unique and completely mine and looked just as good, if not better, than a lot of the veils I saw for hundreds of dollars at bridal shops.

I'm wasn't going to wear one at all....but then I realized how important it was to my mom that I wear her dress but there was no way I'd ever get into it so I'm going to wear my mom's lace trimmed veil, it's beautiful actually and I'm excited to wear something from my parents wedding 30 years ago.

  • Nope. Veils are nice, but it's just not me as I'm not the traditional type. I'm thinking about a purple and white flowered wreath with ribbons or something hanging down instead.

I fought with the idea because I have short pixie cut hair but when I tried on my cathedral length veil I fell in love. Yes!

I'm actually wearing two veils - one that's almost as long as my cathedral train (it will just be in the back), and one that goes down to about my elbow. We're having the ceremony outside on a cliff overlooking the ocean to so I wanted something long a flowing! :)

On my wedding I wore the veil my mom wore on hers, which was floor length

I wore a finger-tip length veil positioned underneath my up-do.
