Somewhat-Kinda-Sorta Hockey Q's?

1.) Will the elders of the hockey section accept my petition to become a part-time Tampa Bay Lightning Fan? I found myself getting quite excited at the prospect of going to some games next year... Is this blasphemy?

2.) How much wood would an Andreychuk chuck if an Andreychuk could chuck wood?

3.) Are the occasional "weak" free agent classes to blame for rapid inflation of salarys across sports? Do teams rush things and settle for B list free agents at A list prices due to scarcity?

4.) I'm opening a bar (hopefully someday) invent a hockey themed drink for me to put on the menu?

5.) Not to beat a dead horse, but did you gain a little respect for our boy Tiger after it came out what was really wrong with him?

Update:

tgnut... Chill out, it was a joke.

Additional question... If you are going to reference a celebrity in a public forum for business purposes, shouldn't you spell his name right? I am looking at real estate in Tampa and I came across this....http://www.blackburninvestors.com/Hockey

1)Nope..Me..Flyers or none..Sorry TB and Haley.

    2)ICEMAN!!!! ITS MONDAY..No rhymes!LOL

3)That happens in every sport not just hockey..When a setup man in baseball get 3.5 million over 3 years to pitch an inning every other game something is wrong.

4)The Iceman Cometh....Meaning cometh to the bathroom in an hour.

5)It was a performance that makes legends. The only difference this time many were witnessing the events that transpired. The only knock on it was it happened on Monday when most of the people didn't get to see it because of work.

Source(s): Let me know when your opening the bar.I'll be there and free drinks of course right?LOL

    1) When in a new location you need to get a hockey fix somewhere, so you are granted.

    2) Andreychuk is a neanderthal

    3) You hit the nail on the head. It is the same in anysport. I mean look at Gil Meche and even Barry Zito.

    4) Man, I would just order a beer on tap. You could call it hat trick ale or something.

    5) Big fan of El Tigre. The guy is just too good not to respect. Think Mike "Tiger Wuss" Milbury could play 91 holes under those circumstances?

    1. Nothing is blasphemy in the Hockey Section except trolls and puck bunnies.

    2. Didn't he play with a wooden stick from the 80's when he won the Cup? Sounds like he doesn't chuck wood much, maybe chucks at the bar afterwards.

    3. Sometimes.

    4. The Avery f*cker upper.

    5. Nah, he's still lame to me.

    6. Yikes.

Source(s): Red Wings and Blue Jackets Fan.
  • 1. As a closest Thrashers supporter myself...I think the hockey section elders will forgive you. I mean you're only human..homer-ism happens.

    2. need more coffee

    3. I think you're right. I don't think some of the "big money" players deserve all that money when all they are is Average. IMO no player should make more than 8 mil a year...anything over that is asinine.

    4. YAY!! The bar better be a hockey bar! What about...Sierra Mist...Vanilla Vodka..Coconut Rum..and a splash of cranberry juice...we'll call it the Slapper!!

    5. I'm really not a Tiger fan..being from the Greensburg PA area...I am on Team Rocco.....That said..you can't deny that Tiger is an excellent athlete.

I am older but I don't think an Elder of the section.

1.) Well...you are a Rangers fan Ice. I think all Full time Rangers fans are part time "something else" fans. And at least your jumping on the Homer bus, not the Bandwagon...So it's cool!!!

2.)He'd chuck all day the Andreychck way if an Andreychuck, could chuck wood.

3.)I think it has more to do with the tough of who they might have to give up later.

4.) I still love the hat trick. From the Movie "Waiting" Puff, shot.beer then exhale.

5.)I've always respected him just never liked him much.

    1) Not unless you introduce me to Manon Rheaume (i'm a Canadien fan as you know)

    2) If I only knew, then this question wouldn't be new

    3) Scarcity, supply, demand

    4) Bloody Mary with partials at the bottom of the glass. Like in Youngblood lol. So you can scare away all the puckbunnies. Then put partials back in mouth while mumbling "I was wondering whether those things work!"

    5) To a point. Hockey gets an unfair deal in the American press to begin with. I can forget people's ignorance but it's hard to forgive it at times.

    6) One would think people use spell / grammar check but even when they do, not all words are verified.

1)Since you are moving down here, there is no reason that you can’t support the home team also. I have always loved the Habs, but I have never even lived in Montreal, so I suppose I don’t even have an excuse.

2)I didn’t know Dave could still get it up… ;)

    3)Yep.

4)A Gin and Tonic with Orange, lime, and lemon slices and call it the “Homes”….lmao. I have no idea.

5)I don’t really care about Tiger Woods.

LMAO. Yep…..”Gretsky” was awesome…. what a moron. Iceman, since you are moving down here…feel free to e-mail me if you want to know what are “good” areas and what are “bad” areas. If you are moving to St. Petersburg…do not move south of 5th Ave. And if you are moving to Tampa, North of I275….stay on the left side of Dale Mabry…and if you are moving South of I275 the areas are all pretty good, but there are a couple of bad patches…stay away from anything in “Central” Tampa or the 33604-33605 zip code.

BTW: I congratulated you on the acceptance to law school, in a baseball question last week.

    1) Uh...sure?

    2) LOL I just said it outloud but it doesn't have the same appeal as a regular tongue-twister.

    3) I don't think so.

    4) Real beer. Stuff that doesn't take 40 bottles to get drunk off of.

    5) He regained my respect (not that it really matters to him) after he publicly ate his foot about the hockey comments. But if you're referring to his play at the US Open, oh, yeah. If anyone has ever played golf (with an actual golf swing), that torque on the knees, back, and hips doesn't help with any existing pain. Trust me, I know. I was in a car accident last year where my hip and lower back were messed up. I tried golfing once my (hot, blonde, bombshell of a) chiropractor gave me the "yellow light" (proceed with caution...so a small bucket of balls at the driving range) and it hurt like a biatch. So for him to play through the pain and hit those sniper iron shots (which is hard enough when you're NOT in pain) in the final and playoff round....

Also, always remember who beat him in match-play in the President's Cup last summer: Mike Weir. That's right, the hockey-loving, lefty Canadian, MIKE WEIR.

Source(s): I SO wanted to make the drive to Montreal for that event but tickets were so expensive...and then you gotta factor in the gas and the lodging and the food....

    1. I honestly don't mind who people support if they know and love their hockey - by good answering and good questions, those people make me wiser. You have to have your 'fix' somehow, so go ahead and enjoy.

    2. Um, yeah.

    3. In a seller's market it's bound to happen. Frustrating when you just wish people would keep cool and not be hasty.

    4. Igor Larianov took 'Slap Shot' for a nice shiraz he markets, so that is taken, so what about 'Top Shelf', 'Time Out' or 'Fighting Major'?

    5. I don't know whether to admire his commitment to his game, or deplore his short sightedness in persuing that trophy above his long term fitness. It looks like a long repair job - he's lucky he can afford it.

Bonus: I feel like a lone voice ranting on about spelling, but yes, I would check!! This advert does two things, first, it says to people who know better, that this agent is lazy and didn't do his homework - so don't give him any business. Secondly, for those who DON'T know better, they now have the wrong spelling planted in their heads forever, perpetuating a problem.

    See you at the bar!

  • 1) I am sure the would. You will have to check with them about the rituals you have to undergo to become one though

2)He doesn't chuk wood. He pays someone to do it for him

3)Yes sometimes I think they do

4)The suicide shots. You have to line them up and play a tape of Herb Brooks shouting "again" while the 1980 team skates suicides on the ice. you have to keep going until they are finished or you are on the floor which ever comes first

5)Don't really care about Tiger at all Sorry
