If Barack Obama was running against Colin Powell....?

for the presidency, would Obama focus on the issues or would he and his followers label Powell as “too white and an Uncle Tom” and let that be the “theme” of his campaign?

yes that is exactly what Barry and his followers would do, they have answered a few questions with just those very words in regards to Collin, Condi and the owner of BET. I would have liked to see Condi vs. Hilary that would have been epic.

Mr Cj, are you really that dense? wait, nevermind..........................how does it feel to be played like a fiddle by Barry.

I love the "straw man"arguments you right wingers like to lob out there.First of all Colin Powell would not stand a chance of becoming president, first because he lied, second because the Bush administration hung him out to dry,and he has spoken out about it on several occasions,he would get zero support of his own party. It never ceases to amaze me how you guys spin Obamas multi-ethnicity into some kind of racism. The fact of the matter is that he is half black and half white, some will use his blackness as a reason to vote against him,and some like you will decide he hates half of himself, apparently he hates his mother and grandparents according to your theory. Are you really that Naive?

Black people have been discriminated against since the early days of this country, and while much has improved in the last 40 years, there is still an immense amount of hate remaining,as a man who has seen both sides of the equasion I believe he is uniquely qualified to speak to the issue, yet every time he says anything about it you label him a racist. There is nothing wrong with being proud of your heritage nor defending it against those who hate.Obama doesnt dislike white people, but I am certain he dislikes racists.Im no racist but I dislike them as well.Colin Powell has stated he may even vote for Obama, and the way I see it he is the best option for the job, regardless of his color.McCain would continue the very poicies that got us to where we are,and frankly I dont like the direction we are going. If Obama were white it would be a landslide.

He would definitely stoop that low, but it wouldn't work. If Colin Powell were running for president, Obama would be so out-classed I might feel sorry for him. Colin Powell is a real American, and his intelligence, grace and good attitude would expose Obama for the whiny, arrogant, pandering liberal he is. Obama couldn't handle a real competiton against a real African-American, one who has a right to be proud of himself but yet remains humble. He would eventually duck his tail between his legs and call Oprah to bail him out. Oprah would book him on her show and give him a hug, and then America could go on being America.

Where the heck is Oprah, anyway? I'm looking for a bra, a pair of jeans, a colon cleanse and a new religion, and I can't do it without her.

Colin Powell as VP, well that sounds like a great idea!!

As far as this question--no, Obama would focus on the issue just as he's been doing in this race.

Go Obama! Go Obama! Go Obama! Go head Go head! Barack the vote, Baby!

No, Barack Obama is the one people are calling "too white." Since Powell was part of the Bush Admin change would still be the theme.

Yes, just as he is focusing on the issues now. You simply choose to ignore when he speaks on those issues. That's your choice.

And no one calls Colin Powell an "Uncle Tom". In fact, most respect him for seeing the light in that administration and being a man of courage and honor and dropping out. Btw, Colin Powell has publically voiced his own respect and admiration for Sen. Obama.

Obama focuses on the issues and questions as you'd know if you cared to know. But just for the sake of the argument, what exactly would be inaccurate in calling Collin Powell "Uncle Tom" or something to that effect? Harry Belafonte said that about him and CondoSleaza a LONG time ago, and little has changed since then, except that the tin general grew some cojones and a trace of spine to quit.

The Obama campaign would label Powell "Bush's candidate" and win that way. Same way they're going to beat McCain.

No he wouldn't call him an Uncle Tom but I bet he'd make a point of congratulating themselves about being successful minorities (just as him and Hillary were doing in their debates while Edwards was cast as the "lowly traditional white male"). I'm sure Powell would want to focus on the issues just as McCain does.

Ducky - Powell won't run in 2012 (or ever). His wife won't let him. No kidding.

Source(s): I know liberal tendancies. They love their tokenisms as much as they love their tokes.

Of course not, he's running against McCain. In fact, Powell has given many signs that he actually will support Senator Obama.

Your question is irrelevant. Colin Powell isn't running for president. Stick with reality. You'll get along a lot better in life that way, pal.
