Can you use your ipod during takeoff?
I am flying on a 5 hour flight followed by a two 1/2 hour flight on Wednesday. I am scared of flying and want to listen to some meditation. I know CD players and computers have to be off during take off and landing but how about ipods?

they have to be shut off along with all electronic devices untill you reach final altitude and a little while before you land you also have to shut off all electronical devices. cell phones must be shut off the whole time unless on air plane mode because they could interfere with the radio and wireless signals. just look out at the beauty of the clouds while on the plane well listening to music that's what i do and will be doing this sunday. i'm also terrified of flying but this helps alot. have a safe fun trip xD

No you are not allowed to use your ipod during takeoff and landings. The flight attendants will inform you when it is ok to use electronic devices.

Indeed, ALL electronic devices are required to be turned of as the plane takes off, and lands. Truthfully, modern day planes no longer are affected by electronic devices, due to technological improvements, but they make you still do it just incase, i always have my ipod in during take off and landing >_< just don't let the mean flight attendant see!

airways have a tendency to err on the side of caution (each and every in certain circumstances excessively so, in this context), and mechanically forbid using many digital units throughout take-off and touchdown. in truth, there is no info that iPods have any result on airliners, even if this is as a lot because the airline to go back to a call what they are going to or gained't let, and as i have suggested, a lot of them prefer to restrict a huge decision of units only to be chance-free (and partly because they are too lazy to attempt the units).

yes!!! You can use your ipod during take off and during flight. Ipod does not make any electromagnetic signals (cellphone DO make an electromagnetic signal for communication purpose).
so, enjoy your music!!!

most of the handheld phones & pda's have flight mode. turn the phone profile to flight mode just as you board the plane..then you'll be spared of govt. penalties.

*****actually, it depends on the Flight Attendant. Some will let it fly (pun intended) and some won't. Best bet, don't let them see it. . . .
Relax and enjoy your trip!!
