What do die hard Republican supporter think with Bush's spiritual advisor defending Obama from James Dobson?

Kirbyjon Caldwell is the man who officiated Jenna Bush's wedding and was the one that offer the official benediction for his inauguration both in 2001 and 2005.

He is now endorsed Obama and defended the recent attack by the fake minister James Dobson.

I have to say I'm surprised, I know many Christians that have good brain in them who won't go to vote because of how bad they were burn by the Republicans, they don't necessarily become Democrats, but for someone that close to Bush to support Obama??

Update:

I saw an answer saying that I'm stretching it a bit with the spiritual advisor part.

If someone who marries one of your only twin daughters not considered your 'MAIN' spiritual adivisor, then someone is deeply in denial there

wow...I didn't hear that news....what a great man Mr Caldwell is.....I am sure this puts him at odds with some evangelicals and was probably a difficult thing to do....but sometimes we have to decide to stand for something....good for him....I could care less whom he supports, just that he stood up to Dobson's rhetoric.

You are having to stretch a bit to make something of that. Caldwell is not the spiritual advisor for Bush.

He is considered to be one of several. Bush has stated on a couple of occassions, he does not have 'one' spiritual advisor. There are several. First and foremost he said was Jesus Christ.

Great information! The first link that you have is the best link I've ever seen on Yahoo Answers. It's a very powerful statement about how some evangelicals condemn candidates without knowing what they really said.

Ms. Bigglesworth doesn't know the pastor in question---though he supported Bush. And she DOESN'T WANT TO KNOW HIM because he is now for Obama.

She's rather be a fan of that looney James Dobson. (Because he doesn't like Obama.)

He doesn't like McCain either! By the way.

This election by far, has produced very strange bed fellows. I don´t know this pastor, but I do know James Dobson and I agree with him about Obama.
