I'm not to sure of what you asking when you say that all the countries lies. I'm feeling this is in regards to politics. If so, each governor in each state does seem not to hold up their promises in all sorts of issues however, it's up to us to fight for what we believe. If you feel in your state something is not done to satisfaction to promise you can write a congression to your local congress office and voice your opinion. You can usually find these numbers in the blue pages or near front of the phone book under government. You get enough people to sign a petition it can at times make a big difference.

Sometimes we have to take the good with the bad.

Look at Mexico, they make an average of $10.00 a day working hard and all day. So we are better off than many countries. Nowadays it seems as if we are to working for that amount a day. In 2001 just before 911 we was paying 99c a gallon for gas. People seem not to remember this even people who are older. I guess I do because I travel a lot. Anyways, after 911 gas prices sky rocket, for what? We have no clue. It seems as if the only people benefitted from that was the president and the people who sole oil/gas. Last year, Exxon made the biggest profit of any company ever, $36 billion, and its retiring chairman appears to be reaping the benefits.

Exxon is giving Lee Raymond one of the most generous retirement packages in history, nearly $400 million, including pension, stock options and other perks, such as a $1 million consulting deal, two years of home security, personal security, a car and driver, and use of a corporate jet for professional purposes.

WASHINGTON - When it comes to public opinion, Congress isn’t held in very high regard, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver reminded executives of the country’s biggest oil companies.

Then the Missouri Democrat added, “Your approval rating is lower than ours, and that means you’re down low.”

So it went Tuesday as oil company chiefs defended their huge profits in the face of record gasoline prices — perhaps heading toward $5 a gallon — and a winter during which many people have been struggling to keep up with heating bills

Now read this article which tells you how our government is so not working for us. Coming from AP associated press.

“On April Fool’s Day, the biggest joke of all is being played on American families by Big Oil,” said Rep. Edward Markey, D-Mass., as he opened the hearing.

The executives of Exxon Mobil Corp., the nation’s biggest, and four other oil companies said they know fuel costs are hurting people, but they argued it’s not their fault and their profits are in line with other industries.

Appearing before a House committee, the executives were pressed to explain why they should continue to get billions of dollars in tax breaks when they made $123 billion last year and motorists are paying an average of $3.29 a gallon at the pump.

“Our earnings, although high in absolute terms, need to be viewed in the context of the scale and cyclical, long-term nature of our industry as well as the huge investment requirements,” said J.S. Simon, senior vice president of Exxon Mobil Corp., which made a record $40 billion last year.

“We depend on high earnings during the up cycle to sustain ... investment over the long-term, including the down cycles,” he continued.

That up cycle has been going on too long, suggested Cleaver, who said his recent trip back to Missouri during a two-week congressional recess taught him one thing: “The anger level is rising significantly.”

“I heard what you are hearing. Americans are very worried about the rising price of energy,” said John Hofmeister, president of Shell Oil Co., echoing remarks by the other four executives including representatives of BP America Inc., Chevron Corp. and ConocoPhillips.

While Democrats hammered the executives for their profits and demanded they do more to develop alternative energy sources such as wind, solar and biofuels, Republican lawmakers called for opening more areas for drilling to boost domestic production of oil and gas.

What would bring lower prices? asked Rep. James Sensenbrenner of Wisconsin, the committee’s ranking Republican

“We need access to all kinds of energy supply,” replied Robert Malone, chairman of BP America, adding that 85 percent of the country’s coastal waters are off limits to drilling.

But Markey wanted to know why the companies aren’t investing more in energy projects other than oil and gas — or giving up some tax breaks so the money could be directed to promote renewable fuels and conservation and take pressure off oil and gas supplies.

Now we are broke from these high gas prices trying to survive them while others reap the benefits.

“Why is Exxon Mobil resisting the renewable revolution,” asked Markey, noting that the other four companies together have invested $3.5 billion in solar, wind and biodiesel projects.

Exxon is spending $100 million on research into climate change at Stanford University, replied Simon, but current alternative energy technologies “just do not have an appreciable impact” in addressing “the challenge we’re trying to meet.”

The appearance Tuesday before the Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming was not the first time that oil executives had faced the harsh words of lawmakers frustrated over their inability to do anything about soaring oil and gasoline costs.

This even prove how right you are about lies we are being told. Gas didn't have to reach that over $4.00 mark. It's ashame to say money lies within the root of many hearts and it does not matter who they hurt or even if the hold nation hurt from it. We continues to suffer from the soaring gas prices that our government allow to take place. I know Bush made billions off taxes from gas/oil. And yes, all 50 states suffer and so is our poor soldiers who is in Iraq needless getting kill for our lying country. Sorry so long but it pisses me off to see how this country is working against their people and not for, it's time for a change and for the people to see what is really going on.

Steroetypes frustrate me too, although they are intended as a shaggy dog story. I'm British, and even though I have heard many stereotypes approximately the USA I do not consider that many persons truthfully consider them. The stereotypes that Ihave heard of the USA are that you're smug, you sue persons over dull matters, you're patriotic and ignorant approximately what lifestyles is like in different constituents of the arena. I wish to strain regardless that that those aren't what such a lot British persons truthfully consider of american citizens. The rationale plenty of those stereotyoes exist is on account that optimistic studies do not promote and the smug persons are the persons with the loudest voices.

    I know some truth...

I know that the sun will come up every morning and go down every night.

I know that there is people all around me that love me.

I know that there is always a person in the world that has never told a lie.

I know that EVERYONE cares about some type of truth in some aspects of thier lives otherwise we would all be at war and be dead.
