Hyper and hypothyroidism?
Can anyone tell the observations/test results for these two illnesses?
For instance, the patients blood pressure, pulse, 02 stats, Blood glucose, and blood pH?
I'm having a real hard time find them on the internet and in books so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Chris

There is no set figure for BP, pulse etc with these two conditions as every patient is different and observations will vary with each one...this will be why you are finding it hard to find anything in books or on the net.
Generally a patient with hypothyroidism with have a slower pulse whilst the patient with overactive thyroid will have a fast pulse. How slow or fast will in part depend on how over or under active the thyroid is. Other factors need to be considered too however, such as general health of the patient,(i.e. do they have any other medical problems) and their age. Neither condition should overly affect the O2 levels, glucose or PH. Sorry I cannot be more specific but hope this helps a little.

Hyperthyroidism includes the test results showing elevated T3 and/or T4 levels, meaning increased production of hormones. With this condition, symptoms include Insomnia, breathlessness, hair and weight loss and fatigue.
Hypothyroidism includes low T4 levels, but high TSH (Thyroid stimulating Hormone). Symptoms include depression, memory loss, fatigue and weight gain.
Hope this helps! I was a bit confused by the question.

1) Hyper thyroidism = more hormone is produced so low cholestrol tsh etc.. good appetite
2) Hypo thyrodism = less hormone produced high tsh, high cholestrol constipation etc.. including depression
