  • Removing a Security tag?

My mum bought a scarf from Marks and Spencers last week. It was put in a bag and when she got home, dropped it in her room, but before she could look at it, had to rush off to see her sister in hospital. She's only just got round to looking at it now and we've noticed the security tag is still on the end of the scarf. We've all looked high and low for the receipt but can't find it anywhere.

Mum's reluctant to take it back to M&S to let them take it off because she thinks they'll assume she stole it. Is there anyway we can remove it ourselves at home? If not, is there any way we can get M&S to remove it?

  • Interview Question...?

I have an university interview during the next week, and I've just thought of another question. I expect to be asked to talk about a event that has recently happened with my chosen career, but I'm unsure what the interviewer will be looking for.

Will the interviewer be looking at HOW I am at talking about the event, or the subject matter itself?

Also, does it matter how big or small the incident/event is? I'm unsure whether to talk about a report commisioned by the national advisor a couple of years ago (the last one that was commisioned), or an incident that happened on the street more recently.

  • Problem with my Wii Balance Board?

I bought Wii Fit pretty much straight away after it came out. Everything was working fine with it but I've been out of the country for the past few weeks.

I tried to turn it on before, but the blue light on the power button just flashes a few times before turning off. I've swapped the batteries for some brand new ones but that hasn't solved it. I've also tried to re-sync it but that didn't work either.

I was just wondering whether I should get Nintendo involved, and if I should how do I go about it? I bought the game and board from Woolworths but my parents have just moved house, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to find the receipt. I'm hoping that this is just a superficial problem that someone else has overcome with relative ease though.

    Cheers for your help

  • Speeding Question?

Right, I've just come home to my mate's house. I was coming home and I came to a T junction (I had to pull ONTO this road). So I did my checks and I noticed a bike coming on toward me. I know the roads and I knew that it was some way off, so I pulled out and went on my way (it was a national speed limit road which I reached just after this next part happened). Almost immediately, the iike was behind me. I've just got home and found a text off my mate calling me an idiot. It turns out it was him behind me on the bike and he was doing over 110mph down that road, which explains how he caught up to me so quickly.

My question is if we had ended up crashing, who's in the wrong? I know it might be me, but I judged where he was in the road and did not expect him to be doing that speed. Is it me because I pulled out in front of him, or him for speeding.

  • Windows Live Messenger?

I've been trying to sign in all night, but it keeps telling me they're unable to sign me in. When I go to troubleshoot the problem, it tells me that my "hosts file contains Windows Live Messenger related entries which may interfere with name resolution".

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Messenger but it still doesn't work.

The error code it's giving me is 80048820.

Does anyone have a clue what's going on or what I should do?

  • What is the distance between.....?

Chester, North West England and Hatfield, Hertfordshire?

I've got an interview there next week and I'm trying to work out how I'm going. If there's any sites on the internet that might help me, I'd be glad to do it myself. Just point me in the right direction =o)

  • Scientology?

    I'm confused.

I just read on the internet that Tom Cruise said that scientologists are the only people who can help after a car accident. This blatantly isn't true, but I'm wondering what he basis his statement on? What help would a scientologist be at a car accident?

Did I misquote him, and he actually said, scientologists are the only people who can help 'after people have recovered from a car accident'?

I'm honestly not trying to cause trouble, and I'd rather only have answers that are helpful, but cheers all the same.

  • The Wii and it's use to encourage people to lead healthy lifestyles?

I've decided to do my dissertation on the use of the Wii to encourage people to lead a healthy lifestyle. I decided to do this topic after I heard that five schools in Worcestershire had bought a Wii in order to encourage pupils to come to PE class.

The trouble is, I need to do a literature review, and there's a distinct shortage of research into the subject, well...anywhere.

All that I've found so far is an article in the British Medical Journal about John Moore's University conducting experiments into how much weight one can expect to lose if the Wii is played frequently.

Does anyone know if anyone else has researched/conducted experiments into this topic? Or if anyone is actually researching it now? I'd much prefer the research to be published, but I really want to do this topic, so I'll take what I can get!

    Thanks for your help,

    Chris

  • Private finance companies?

My parents are going through a rough patch financially.

I'm trying to help them out so I tried researching debt management companies. I'm drawing a blank, apart from the CCCS and those companies off the TV like Ocean Finance.

I might try putting them in touch with an Independant Financial Advisor, but apart from that, I don't know much more.

They're arguing a bit more now aswell, so is there a specialist counsellor I should look at? or would a regular counsellor be alright?

    Thanks for your help

  • Scrubs Question?

OK, this is really annoying me now.

About a year ago, I swear I watched a particular episode of Scrubs, but i've gone through my dvds and I can't seem to find it now.

The only things from the episode I can remember are JD doing paperwork and 'The Three P's' (which refer to pain medication, paperwork and something else beginning with 'p').

Any help would be geatly appriecated =)

  • Serialised Book?

There was a book serialised in The Sun last week. I only managed to read the part on Wednesday, but there were also excerpts from the book in The Sun on Monday and Tuesday. The book was about snipers (I think) in Iraq, and was written by a soldier who'd served in Iraq.

The excerpt on Wednesday described how a Colonel had come to their base, and changed the Rules of Engagement concerning shooting civilians who were used by the Taliban, in order to target mortar fire accurately.

Does anyone know which book it was from?

I remember the book is supposed to be released on the 31st of August if that helps....

    Thanks in advance.

  • Recommend a band for me?

I'm looking for some new music to listen to.

I like acoustic and piano driven music.

Bands and artists I listen to are a lot are: Something Corporate, Dashboard Confessional, Joshua Radin, Imogen Heap, Colin Hay, The Fray, Jimmie Robbins, Dave Mellilo, Paolo Nutini and Regina Spektor.

Basically anything along the same vein as those artists, but I'd prefer it to be recent music though :o)
