Turn off Vegas for a day? Would it slow down global warming or cause crisis in world markets (just a thought)?

If you turned off the lights in Vegas-- the local citizens would be able to actually see the stars in the sky at night and the Milky Way --- that's about it. However just like the 1990s earthquake in LA when all the power went off------- 911 would get a bunch of phone calls from excited citizens saying "there are strange lights in the sky!".

Yeah, give those water pipelines a little rest, since it's all evaporating off the fountains anyway. A day wouldn't make much of a difference to global warming, but I'll bet that a lot of bachelor parties would have to be cancelled!

"Turning off Vegas" would not affect global warming as the activities of man have no effect upon solar activity (the true driving force of climate change), nor would it affect world markets as it is merely a remote destination for entertainment to those of us outside its city limits.

It wouldn't do a thing. Instead of impacting peoples livelihood, how about just turning off your electricity for a year and walking to work. Volunteering sacrifice from others is no sacrifice at all.

Note: Looks like areal.. was on the same page with me on that one.

Turning off Vegas won't do a thing for global warming. Global warming was caused by nature just like the medieval warming period in the past. There's nothing humans can do to prevent it (and little to nothing we did caused it).

Turning off ALL the big cities for a day would probly help. everyone should either walk or take the day off. It might not help the economy but it would def. help the enviroment

Whatever. We're all doomed regardless. Has nobody told you?

The best thing to do would be to cut the power to every environmentalist's home.
