Why are YahooAnswers people so lazy or unable to search for answers that already exist on this site?

Its sooooooo easy! Do you see the "search for questions" box? I see the same questions being asked over and over and over and over. To ask again is to waste people's time and makes this site not nearly as helpful or fun as it could be. Grow up and take responsibility for your own learning!!

Update:

Yes, I am aware that this question has been asked before. Just a futile attempt to get people thinking. Based on most of the responses here and on the other 3 catagories I asked this in, I'd say its a lost cause.

I completely agree! I think maybe some people have just learned to rely on this system. There is such a thing called Google.. so many of the questions are easily found by using a search engine.

Maybe they want to see if anyone has a different answer. Maybe they think there are smarter people online at different times of year. Maybe they are secret government organizations taking polls secretly through Yahoo! Answers in order to lay an elaborate trap for the aliens who are, AS WE SPEAK, invading the solar system...probably not, but if Im right, you'll feel bad.

some people want to ask similar questions as before but they are different from the people who have gone before so they want to get answers that suit them

some don't realize about the search option when they are newbies

I know, I see the same questions over and over. They would save themselves 5 points, as well.

i won't even mention how easy it would be to enter their subject of query into Yahoo search--or a dictionary. i just answered 2 dumb questions where they didn't even bother to check the spelling of the thing they wanted you to explain. we're raising a generation of muppets.

Most of the questions weren't answered by me, though, so all of the prior answers are suspect. Asking the questions again and taking advantage of my omniscience will improve the Y!A experience for everyone now and in posterity.

Seems rather dumb to me. I don't ask any questions, I am married to a librarian, but she asks me reference questions.
