The answer is simple : There is no delusion.

We spend so much time conducting research that would do us no good as individuals in our respective societies. Why is it that we are so obsessed with religion? What answers or proof would convince everyone to follow the same pattern?

I am Christian. But I don't believe that Christianity is a religion. It is a lifestyle which you live and are free to belong to any religion as long as you do not breach that one law of Christianity. Only one. And that is Love. Jesus is seen as the author of Christianity but He never lived as a member of a religion called Christianity, He did not create the political environment which humans have today as a result of their endless quest for power and control. Jesus has stated firmly in the New Testament:

"Now I give you a new commandment: love one another. Just as I have loved you, you must also love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another" (Gospel of John 13: 34-35)

We waste valuable time telling others what they can and cannot do based on our narrow perceptions of the world which is pathetic and strongly subject to change. And we ignore the real things we should be doing regardless of where we are or to which religion we belong, and the real virtue which we should spread ; love for one another, and adding sufficient value to every human life.

Religion cannot satisfy anyone, but a personal discovery of God for oneself can. Human wisdom has a limit, and no research could come up with answers that would satisfy every quest for knowledge in religious or spiritual matters.

Therefore, in answer to your question: There is no delusion and there is no "cure". The only thing there is, is a deeper understanding of our lives and an appreciation of every human life on earth.

Religions probably are a mass delusions. But something created us. Life is to complex to have occurred randomly. So people try to seek out the truth by turning to these religions because they assume they have the answers. Most people feel that their is a higher purpose for them either here or in the afterlife.

There are only two ways to end the "curse"

    1) God comes down and tells us who is right.

    2) You die and find out for yourself.

One of the biggest problems facing humanity today is organized religions. An even bigger question would be what if no one is wrong and all the alternate paths lead eventually to the same thing? What was all of the earthly hatred and killing for then? The cure is compassion and acceptance and celebration of differences.

It means people are searching for meaning in different places.

How is that delusional? Whether it's religion, politics or whatever: People will always have different views. This does not mean they are delusional.

Two football teams(soccer) may have a different opinion on whether a goal was offside, a penalty should have been given or whether a player should have been sent off.

They are not being delusional. All that's happening is that they have different opinions.

People will always seek meaning in, or by what, they see as relevant to them. Not just in religion, but in politics, art and sport etc. Folk will always want to express themselves and try to find meaning in their lives. This is actually quite sane.

Why do you care what people choose to believe? Why are you so threatened by people who believe in a religion? Are they hurting you? Are you being prevented from being the person you want to be because of religion?

If you are an atheist, cool. Trying to cure the world of dillusionist people does not make you any different than the people who want to cure the world of non-believers.

"a person who exemplifies in his or her life the teachings of Christ"

this is the definition of christian according to dictionary.com.

i'm a christian by that definition. i dont personally view being christian as being religious, but rather trying to live by the same values as Jesus. i agree with 6ofus. religion is man made. i think ultimately all the paths will lead to the same thing if you were a righteous follower. my belief is that God just wants us to believe in him, have a personal relationship with him, love everyone as he loves us, and live by the values of the bible( or whatever scripture, the 40,000 religions don't matter here because the values are pretty much the same for most of them). you dont have to "belong to a religion", or go to church....or try to convert others....nothing like that. you just have to know he's there and live accordingly. wwjd?

Gee, thats certainly alot of "delusion". The fact is that just

as you believe there is no proof that God exists, it is equally true that there is no proof that He doesn't.

Don't set yourself up as an enemy of God - if you are right and its all delusion, you've lost nothing. But if Christ returns and you are labeled an enemy, its not gonna be the best

day for you. Keep an open mind.

I call it stupidity. Everyone of them is right and everybodyelse is wrong. Everyone of them is going to heaven and everybodyelse is going to hell. Isn't God love? Love does not discriminate. Love forgives. So, knowing that going into these institutions of righteousness, don't you feel like the devil? I believe it is time for all of you to join my church. Name of the the church. Be good. That is also the one rule.Nothing else
