What game is it?
From past experience, I've had this problem from when you install the game. There's usually an option to do a "complete install" which copies all the files onto the hard drive. This should resolve your problems.

You'll need a crack for the game. There's many sites out there with things for that.

Before you run any of the programs though, scan them for viruses at http://www.virustotal.com/

there are two options -
1. make an iso image of the disk and mount it with daemon tools
2. obtain a no cd crack for it from http://www.gamecopyworld.com/
By doing either of these things you would be breaching the eula, which is illegal.
