Us Chamber of Commerce Endorses Illegal Immigration?

Would you interpret that according to this quote from the US Chamber of Commerce's website that they are, in fact, ENDORSING Illegal Immigration? And if so, do you approve of membership in such an organization?

“Continue to push for comprehensive immigration reform that: increases security; has an earned pathway to legalization for undocumented workers already contributing to our economy, provided that they are law-abiding and prepared to embrace the obligations and values of our society; creates a carefully monitored guest or essential worker program to fill the growing gaps in America's workforce recognizing that, in some cases, permanent immigrants will be needed to fill these gaps; and refrains from unduly burdening employers with worker verification systems that are underfunded or unworkable.”

IE: The Chambers of Commerce are promoting criminal activity:

Update:

Added Info to support the validity of this question:

The legislation “represents a crucial step forward in securing our borders and protecting the lives and property of the American people,” said Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas), contending that the bill would combat the smuggling of illegal immigrants into the United States and “result in more individuals being held accountable for breaking immigration laws.”

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the U.S. Council of Catholic Bishops and the American Bar Assn. have all criticized the bill as draconian.

“This bill is unacceptable to the business community,” Randel Johnson, vice president for labor, immigration and employee benefits with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, said in a conference call with reporters.

Update 2:

Jeanette: I do not hate immigrants. The fact of the matter is that I was a legal permanent resident alien for many years. Therefore I was an immigrant. I am now a US citizen.

I came to the US legally though, went through all processes, so your statement is SPOT OFF.

Yes, apparently so. What we have these days is a greedy government who dips their hands in big business. We no longer have a government entity that actually cares about the citizens who keep this country going.

How do you come up with that conclusion! They clearly are promoting a campaign to try and have the law changed which is how democracy works. If there suggested reforms are implemented then none of the examples given would be illegal anymore. If they were saying that companies should ignore current laws then you would have a point, but in this case you are so far off. I think you are confusing your wishes to stop immigration reform with reality.

Chamber of Commerce only represent business interest, so I am not surprised. A little shocked that they would state it pubicly. I don't mind giving an opportunity for citizenship for law abiding undocumented workers. Of course this severely restricts the number of illegal immigrants that would qualify since most of them violated at least one law to get or stay here.

The Chamber represents one thing...their members.

These members include large employers that employ illegals so they can pay lower wages and make more profit.

The chamber is supported by the donations of these employers.

So it is no surprise they would be on opposite sides from the American public,

We now have our own organizations to fight back. Groups such as numbersusa.com and grassfire.org have been instrumental in passing new laws and defeating amnesty.

Yes, just like the NRA promotes criminal activity by pushing governments to weaken gun laws.

It won't be considered criminal activity once they approve it....Sound like they are covering the bases that everyone is complaining about. ; ) Sounds acceptable to me. It will boost the economy.......Remember illegal immigrants pay BILLIONS of dollars in tax money which goes to BLACK,WHITE, and Hispanic people on WELFARE. not to mention the money used for fixing up neighborhoods and roads which brings up the property value.
