Do you know what this yellow lump of dirt could be?

In the corner of a window sill in my home I discovered a yellow lump. When I touched it, there was soft dirt-like stuff there. It seems so gross. I cleaned it up, and it was like cleaning mud. Could it be from rotting wood, some sort of eggs, bad gutters?

Update:

cat????????? do I have a cat????

Maybe it was the beginning of a hive? I've had a few of those around the house windows before.

If not that, then possibly the egg sac, yes.
