Which free agent, or potential free agent (opting out, etc) would you like to see on your team?

I want to know why you think they would be a good pick up for your team, and how you think your team might acheive the goal of obtaining said player.

Personally, as a Wizards fan, i don't see anyone out there who can help, unless a center appears out of nowhere that's worth anything.

Tell me your thoughts!

    Good question.

I'm a Celtics fan, and there are guys from other teams that I want to pursue, but foremost I feel that the Celts should resign some of their own players who have become free agents

House: provided shooting all year round, could have sulked when Sam Cassell was signed to replace him, but instead proved himself on the court, and ended up as the 2nd string point guard ahead of Cassell. However, as solid as he has been, he is definitely expendable- I say offer him the veteran minimum for 2 years; he can take it or leave it.

Posey: here's a guy I feel like the Celtics definitely need to resign. He hit clutch threes in the playoffs against the Cavs, Pistons, and Lakers, and is a good defender, smart player, etc. It's cliche but "he's the kind of guy every championship team needs." However, he's old, and is definitely slower on defense than he used to be- I don't want the Celts to spend the entire MLE (Mid level exception worth 5.48 million). We got him cheap last year at only 2.5 million, so I say offer him 4 million and give him 3-4 years for security; this saves the Celtics 1+ million to spend on someone else if the need arises.

Assuming this goes through and knowing that the Celtics have filled in the guard/small forward needs in the draft by drafting J.R. Giddens and Bill Walker, the Celtics now need a back up center to replace PJ Brown and Pollard.

The Celtics front line is Garnett, Perkins, Powe, and Big Baby. With only one true center in Perk, the Celts need another big man(much like the Wizards need behind Brendan Haywood).

Realistically, there are not many options out there, but the centers available are:

    Jamal Magloire

    Kurt Thomas

    Theo Ratliff

    Mutombo

    Mihm

    Lorenzen Wright

    Kwame Brown

    DJ Mbenga

    Jake Voskuhl

    Doleac

    Diop

    Foyle

    Brian Skinner

    Francisco Elson

    Robert Swift

    Primoz Brezec

Any one of those guys would do as a backup center who would play limited minutes behind Perk and Big-Baby.

I like Kurt Thomas and Diop the most on that list, but it's questionable whether or not they will leave their current teams.

Wouldn't mind Kwame Brown either- he's cheap and is a good man defender, and solid for a backup in limited minutes ONLY.

Magloire could also use his strength, body up, hit the 15 footer jumper, and be a solid backup center.

For these centers, I'd use whatever is remaining of the MLE ( a possible 1 to 2 million depending on what Posey signs for)

If we cannot sign Eddie House, then we need a backup point guard to Rondo and Pruitt- for that I'd look towards:

Lindsey Hunter- he's a great ball hawk on defense and with a defensive point guard rotation of Rondo and Hunter, we could tire out the other's teams point guards.

Either way, I'd say the Celts will find some serviceable big man or point guard if House leaves- the key for them is retaining Posey who is a valuable three point shooter and defensive wing player.

in 2010 easily LeBron, i mean he doesnt seem to be getting closer to a Championship in Cleveland, so it is fitting that he might move into a bigger market like New York to play for the KNicks or the Brooklyn Nets. Preferably the knicks, he can be an immediate savior to our franchise.

As for the Wiz, i feel that they need to pick up a solid center like Kurt Thomas who'll do the dirty work and play hard despite his size, he has come through in the past. He runs the pick and roll really well and would complement the big 3.

Josh Smith on Nets for 2 years.

I would love to see Ron Artest opt out and sign with the Lakers. That would give the Lakers a strong premeter defender to stop guys like Paul Pierce.

Ben Gordon, on the NO Hornets. He will give us yet another inside/outside threat. Also, Mo Pete can come off the bench, much like Ginobili did last year for the Spurs, and spark up the bench.

Lakers should try and get rip hamilton because hes a good defender and can create shots for himself(something that comes easy to only Kobe on the lakers). I think lakers should trade Lamar for him.
