Would you....?

Let's say that scientists had created a computer system that would tell you the exact date, time & how you would die. Would curiosity get the best of you & you would go to the website or would you allow fate to run it's course and allow the unexpected remain as such?

Sure I'd go, then act like an immortal until the end, knowing nothing could kill me. Towards the end I'd be taking out a lot of loans and finally buying massive amounts of life insurance.

HA! Are you forgetting that observing something changes it?

What if you looked at it and then ended up doing something and died earlier? Or avoided the time and place and invalidated it that way.

Or the very act of thinking you would die at a certain time would alter the time?

What if you did the question twice and got idfferent answers?

Sorry I'm not answering your question. But kind of I am. I tihnk it would not really matter.

Maybe I woudl find out and then kill myself differently just to prove it wrong.

Did you see that movie about the guy who got that answer from the Gypsy? Was it called "Big Fish"?

Old Man makes a good point - Although, it would create a catch-22, because if the system said you had 3 years to live, you could kill yourself the next day and render the system invalid. It would be impossible to create a perfect system.

I think curiousity would get the better of me. In some ways it would be nice to know. If I found out I only had another year left, I may do things differently than if I knew I had another 60 years.

Sure I would, so I would know what to change to avoid it. The future is not written in stone, only in probability.

Besides, I already pretty much know how I'm going to die.

Nah, I'd live my life in blissful ignorance.

By gaining knowledge of that sort, you lose hope and your zeal for life, constantly looking at the calendar and counting down the days you have left.

I would. It would help me allocate my time and prepare myself, family, and friends for my death.

I plan on living to around 80. It would be nice to know of any surprises.
