Is one-year stay in Yahoo/Answers especially in the Philosophy Section good enough for retirement?
On July 2, 2008, it will be my first anniversary in the Philosophy Section. My stay with this great category mold me a better person by gaining a great pleasure of understanding and the wisdom i earned.
I gained a lot of intelligent friends here and i owe a lot from them. Just want to hear your personal thoughts. Have a great day!

I have reason to imagine that you must be fed up reading my answers, which all too often are geared toward your queries, but I am not going to take the blame as you yourself have such a knack of asking that it is has almost become contagious for me in the effect. I must also admit that I have observed you doing things here and that has caused at least some learning in the normal way of my doing things.
But let me assure you that your presence here is one the very noticeable ones. The way you enterprise and contribute to the common activity of the sight, I believe, is not only useful to many people, but also to you. This nevertheless remains the fact that I sometimes worry as what particular benefit could you be seeking out of all this, but I hope there is some when I reflect upon my own motives.
This is true that sometimes ago I thought of leaving myself. I made a decision, set a date and started that damn ‘the closing down processes’, as I named it then, but only to get myself entangled even more. Such are the ways of the mind, I understand, that the best of it follows only those paths that are full of mystery and intrigue, that have no end to the sight to offer, where all the rest is for the chores, and labours, of our repetitive daily life.
Look at me, and learn, as I cannot help philosophising here, and seeking out things that are of a little usefulness to me if not for the purpose of furthering my sense of mystification and intrigue. I do however believe, as I like to do, that the days will come when I will be able to round my searches off into some comfortable meaningfulness of life, that one day I will sit under open skies and think nothing but enjoy its generous vastness spread overhead, that I will one day be able to feel all things with a dignified calmness of my heart.
You may ask whatever you like to ask believing that you might have a choice, as you might seek counsel of your fellow travellers as to break off from the journey and reside somewhere by the path, or to continue for some more things to come, then the fact is that if you were to go then you might have already gone. I promise you, you can try as much as you like, but I think you are done for life exposing the mind to its favourite delight.

Not enough for retirement, but enough for tenure, for sure. Keep up the good work, the search for knowledge, and your journey on the path to true wisdom. Congrats on your 'anniversary'! Can we throw you a party? I'll bring the wine...
Blessings!

I don't think that you have to retire after a year. From what I know, you can stay on as long as you want.

Change can be exactly what we need to move even further down the road. A wise man knows this. Thanks for the question.

Knowledge is power but not if you cease to learn. We never stop learning.

It's certainly good enough for immediate referral to the nearest psychiatric ward.
