  • What's the song in the Worst Case Scenario Commercial?

For the new show on the Discovery Channel. Sounds like BT or old Chemical Bros. (I know, the two don't exactly sound all that alike). I've had this song at some point, and don't anymore. Need to know. This Audiophile is having panic attacks until I figure it out :)

Thanks! I heart everyone who answers, 'cause whether you're right or not, I'm going to look up some new music :)

  • Jackson-Hewitt not offering fast refund loans?

Did anyone else hear that Jackson-Hewitt will not be offering refund anticipation loans, where you can get money quickly, this year? I heard that the banks that they use have decided not to offer them. I heard H&R Block will still have them. Any truth to this rumor?

  • Weird Al parody of Beastie Boys 'Girls'?

I swear I remember someone doing a parody of "Girls" called "Squirrels". The only parody guy I know is Weird Al. Does anyone else remember this parody, and who did it? I've looked on both official and unofficial Weird Al websites, and can't find it for anything.

  • Misty Morning Lyrics - NOT Bob Marley?

I sang a song in high school that started "It was a misty morning on the top of the hill with all the trees below me standing quiet and still..." Does anyone know who wrote this, what the rest of the words are, or have any idea where I can find out? The usual lyric sites (elyrics, metro lyrics, lyricsnet, etc) have nothing.

  • The only reason for life is to reproduce? Spiritually speaking, other lives are worthless?

The question was "Why Is Gay Marriage Bad". It went on to say that the reason for the question was a conversation with someone who believed it to be wrong on religious grounds. Here is the answer that I want to know about:

"The biological goal of life revolves around reproduction. If you are gay, there is no point in your life. To me, atheists should be MORE anti gay than Christians. Christians believe in an afterlife, and another chance. Atheists don't. So a gay life is a waste to them. The purpose of life is to reproduce.

I understand that these are just the words of one person. Are there other out there who think that the only purpose someone can have in life is to reproduce? If you think this, please say so; I'm intereted to know how many people feel this way, and if I have been missing something.

    Do you feel this way?

  • Songs about Books or Reading?

I'm doing a presentation on books, and need music to go with it. I'm planning to use "Feel the Rain on Your Skin", because of the lyrics "Today is where your book begins, the rest is still unwritten". Other lyrics talk about writing and books as well.

Problem? I need more than one song. iTunes is of zero help, with the exception of a rap song with lyrics I can't play there. I'll take all other suggestions; it very rarely hurts to listen to new music! Even kids music would be OK,, though not preferred.

  • Am I legally responsible for the damage to his car?

Long question, but please help. I'm a bundle of nerves here!

My ex lent me his car. I had it for 3 months (at his suggestion, he has no license anyway and owes me thousands in child support). I drove it to my grandpas funeral 2.5 hours from my home. The car broke down. I had it towed, and kept the ex informed. The place I had it towed to couldn't fix it. I called and told him that I would help him get it fixed it he would have it towed somewhere else. He waited more than two months before taking any action, during which time I offered on several occasions to make arrangements to help him. Upon getting someone to tow it, he discovered that it had apparently been vandalized and is totaled.

He's threatening to have me prosecuted for theft since I didn't return the car to him (he didn't ask me to until after it broke down, and then asked me to have it towed 3 hours to where he used to live - unreasonable for a car valued at less than $1000). Is this a possibility?

He is also saying that I am responsible for the damage done to it on the lot while it sat. I know I need to call an attorney, but I'd really like whatever information or opinion anyone has. This happened in WV, though he and I both live in Ohio.

  • Is this really what Christians think?

I answered the question"Why do you hate religion?" The body of the question said that Christians didn't split up families, weren't locked up in prison, didn't hit people with sticks. My response listed times in my life where they had done just that. Below are the e-mails I got in response. Please tell me that this isn't what evangelism has come to!

    From: unknown?

    Subject: respect

Message: I respect you and anyone else and any color,Country, Christians ,non Christians, believers, and non believer. These are just questions and as long there is no names on it,it should be no problem because no one has or had to answer any question asked in Q&A

    From: unknown?

    Subject: husband left

Message: sorry for your hard life but people of Christ do suffer a lot.Bible does talk about false teachers of the word. But i believe any one can read the Bible

  • Question on objects that could be harmful spiritually?

My friend was given a "gift" from someone who wishes him harm. The gift was inappropriate for the occasion, and the giver gave the same inappropriate gift to his mother. According to your beliefs, how would you go about getting rid of the object (made of wax), and cleansing your home of any bad intentions/spirits/spells/etc that may be attached to it?

I'm thinking of adapting some Pagan rituals to better reflect our beliefs (hermetic/Kabbalah/Alchemic), but would like some other ideas.

  • I cannot get my car to shift out of "Park"! Please help! I need to leave the office!?

My car is in a parking garage, parked on a slant with the front of the car slightly higher than the rear. The car starts up just fine, but I cannot get it to shift - by which I mean that I cannot physically move the shifter 'thingy'. I drive a 2001 Ford Escort. Please help - I'd like to leave work and go home.

  • Problem with MSFT Word and Zimbra e-mail?

I created a newsletter with lots of text boxes and pictures in Microsoft Word. I then sent it out to my boss and a few others using Zimbra e-mail, and it appeared for them just fine. But when I sent it to a larger group, the two pages of the e-mail appeared on top of one another, and could not be read. I now cannot get rid of this image, and have been unable to send the newsletter to those who need the information.

This could be a formatting issue in Word, in which case I don't know enough to figure it out. It could also be an issue with the Zimbra e-mail, I suppose.

I'll take just about any suggestion, as another newsletter is due out at the end of next week and I'm a little worried about this.

  • Call to all Wiccans and other Pagans?

Right now, on the Fox News Channel, they are discussing Wicca. The report was on a study that said that Buffy the Vampre Slayer had encouraged women to leave the Christian church. The anchor said something like "I don't believe a Christian would turn Wiccan like that." Then Brian said "I don't see it, or it would have happened during Bewitched". One of the anchors said "But on Bewitched, those were GOOD witches".

Question is - what do you think of that.

Reason I posted - send an e-mail to friends@foxnews.com or go to the Fox News website: they just called for Wiccans to respond and explain 'what is so good about Wicca that people would leave Christianity to study it?"

Please answer here, but let's fill the Fox News inbox with "Blessed Be" messages!

  • Would you consider coming to Pittsburgh to support this Minister?

Please click the link, and give me your opinion. My blog contains more information, and is available on my profile through the link to my 360 page.

Homosexual marriage is a "hot-button" issue. But should it be? Why do you feel that way? If you can choose not to drink, to eat pork, or to dress provocatively, why is it so different for you to simply choose not to have a homosexual relationship if you think it is wrong? Why make the choice for the millions of others who wish to have the same rights as everyone else?

  • Online Bachelor's Degree Question?

If you have any experience with getting a degree online, I'd be interested in hearing it. I'm currently looking at that possibility, and am overwhelmed by the number of schools, and what they offer. I'd like a degree in Business Management.

What school did you use? Is it only online, or did you have to go to a bricks and mortar location for some things? Did you really learn as much as you would in a regular classroom? Would you recommend this track to someone else?

I am internet-savvy, work a full-time job, and have kids who need to be my focus. I need flexibility, an accredited, recognized degree, and the freedom to work at my own pace (usually quicker than the average).

Thanks in advance for your responses!

  • Has Book 7 in the Harry Potter series (The Deathly Hallows), been released in the US in Paperback yet?

I just, crying, finished book 6. I don't typically read fiction, but this series has me hooked. I want to run to the bookstore and buy book 7, but it doesn't appear to have been released in paperback yet. Is this possible? It looks like book 6 was released in 2005 - if book 7 was released in '06, shouldn't the paperback already be out?? Help! I can't afford the hardcover, and don't want to wait for it to ship if I go to Amazon or eBay :) Thanks in advance for indulging my insanity!

  • For all my friends and contacts, do you know important you are to me?

I am currently 3 hours from home, scared and feeling very lonely. I've passed out twice in the last hour, and am waiting for a friend to take me to the hospital. I know that I'll get a violation notice if I ask to be in your thoughts and prayers and whatever else you might believe. So instead, I thought I'd take a moment to let you know that my time here has been amazing (so far), and that each of you has had a part in helping me on my journey.

Now, to make this a real question, who, other than the people on Y!A, and other than the God or Messiah of your choice, has had the greatest impact on your spiritual growth and development?

  • When you answer questions in R&S?

Do you read the other answers first, or answer from your own mind, then go back and read the other answers?

I answer first, then read. Sometimes I then go back and edit my answer if I've read something I want to comment on, or something that makes me re-think my original answer. But when I edit, I leave the original answer and note what is edited.

  • For those who believe in some form of reincarnation?

You hear many people with past life experiences/memories. But there are many who claim to have been important figures from history, ie Joan of Ark, or Cleopatra. I've run into no fewer than 10 women who believe themselves to have been Cleopatra, seriously.

So here's my question. Is it possible for the soul to be divided? Is it possible that each of these people has some part of what made up that historical figure? Could I truly posess a part of Pernelle Flamel's soul, while some other individual in some other nation has another portion? I know this might seem crazy and illogical, but it would explain the redundancy.

PS I am also well aware that some of these claims are based on an individual's ego and desire to 'be' someone else. I do not believe myself to have been Pernelle, I just use it as an example only. I know that there is fraud out there as well, but since I already believe in reincarnation, I was just wondering if anyone else had thoughts on this. Thanks!

    Blessings!

  • If a Church is violating the law, should it really get TWO YEARS before being cited?

The attached atricle discusses a church that has been the subject of noise violation complaints for the past two years (starting in 2006). The pastor makes no defense, and, in other statements, admits that loud services often extend into the late evening. I've nothing against peaceful worship, but when you're disturbing the peace, doesn't a church fall under the same rules as any other group?
