In call of duty 4 are Smg guns or assault guns better?

it all depends on your style, game mode you will be playing, and stage.

If you have to be highly mobile you need a smg.

modes that i recommend smgs domination, sabotage, headquarters, and occasionally search and destroy.If you pray and spray alot smg will be your key to staying alive.Smgs vs some players will allow you to literally run circles around them.

assault rifles

if you will be camping on teamdeath you should stick with assault rifles. The extra bullet damage and distance you can see will save your rear end alot.

if its solely to get a golden gun i personally believe the uzi is easier to get then the ak.

if your not cheating to get the golden guns the mp44 will be a hard *** gun to get all the needed headshots

Pros and Cons:

Assault Rifles:

Pros: Good at medium to long range, decent accuracy, medium-high damage,

Cons: Not very mobile (can sprint very long), medium recoil, rate of fire is just ok

SMGs

Pros: Good at short to medium range, not too much recoil (for the most part), extremely mobile, excellent rate of fire, about half have medium damage,

Cons: Not very effective at longer ranges, some have low damage

Overall, I'd say assault rifles are a bit better but it depends on the map and how you fight. If you want to fight long range use assault rifles. If you wanna fight in short ranges use smgs. Considering you use snipers though, assault rifles will probably feel more comfortable to you

I will recommend you assault rifle because this is good than smg.

I prefer assault rifles. SMG's are cool but assault is better.

SMG = accurate, good for close range, not the best damage

Assault Rifle = decent accuracy, good at medium to long range, decent damage

when I set up my training i continually make certain that I certainly have a p90 becuz it has very nearly no cringe and a crap load of bullets, or the mp5 becuz this is sturdy for working and gunning and in basic terms ownng people often. yet once you want to be a consistant beast use the m4 carbine with a crimson dot

there both the same but an smg does lower damage smg(sub machine gun) assult is more of an attack riffle
