Can I bury myself on my own land? Is there a website with info?

I have this crazy idea.... I'd like to buy a tiny plot of land far off in the rural countryside. I would turn it into a perennial garden and build my own monument. But then, I'd like to be buried there someday. Is this possible? What kind of hurdles would I have to go thru to achieve this? Thanks.....

Update:

I'm envisioning a 1/2 piece of land in Lorain County, OH

Call your health dept in your county. I know in Alabama the health dept has to o.k. when someone wants to be buried on private land where there is no cemetery already.
