I spend my winters in FL, and summers in Cleveland, OH. Am a free-lance writer and former contributor to Men's Health and Fitness Magazine. Also, a former mental health worker and public housing official. Have 2 dogs, 1 cat, and a computer named Swell-Dell.

  • In the state of Ohio; can a 17 yr. old legally sign a lease for an apt.?

I'm a landlord and have never encountered this scenario before. This is the city of Cleveland, if that makes a difference? Thanks :)

  • Is 'forment' a word? (And I don't mean 'ferment', please?) See details...?

My online dictionary says that 'forment' is 'not found' in the dictionary (Webster's) Do you have a dictionary that includes this word? I swear-to-gawd I've seen this word before, and I take it to mean malicious plotting; unfolding with pre-planning. (A bit different from the meaning for 'ferment'.) So..... anyone? Thanks.....

  • Where is Cardinal John Newman's body? (see details)?

Background: Cardianl John Newman died in 1890, and wanted to be buried 'next to' his best friend (who many say was his gay lover) Soon to be a saint, the Catholic Church dug up his coffin, but it was totally empty! The church says his body decomposed 'completely' (which I think is preposterous!). I think the Cardinal's body could be found if they open the coffin of his lover, who lies just a few feet away. I think the Church is terrified to open the other coffin because it would be proof that the Cardinal was gay. What do YOU think? Where is Cardinal John Newman?!

  • Advice re: CraigsList, please? (see details)?

For whatever reason, I can't log into CL, as my account is 'on hold' according to the prompt I receive from them. There is no explanation offered. Their own 'help' pages don't cover the topic at all, and of course I can't log into the online help forum. The emails I send to CL only generate a form letter with no explanations at all. I'm not aware that I've done anything 'wrong' to cause this? I haven't broken any rules that I'm aware of? How can I resolve this? I have an apartment that I desperately need to rent out, but this flub prevents me. Anyone else ever encounter a problem like this?

  • RE: CraigsList - "your account has been placed on hold" (details)?

What does this mean? I got this red prompt as I was logging in. Nothing on their help or forums help pages explain this, or why? Any ideas? I just get a formulated, generic response from their 'help desk' that doesn't cover my question at all. Help?

  • Med'l advice please? Painful, growing lump in male pubic region; what is it? (details...)?

This lump started about 8-9 days ago, and has grown to the size of a walnut. It is in the upper corner of my pubic hair/region, near to the crease that separates my thigh and pubic region. (I recall that there could be lymph nodes in that region?) I am HIV+, have had swollen glands before, but they always go away in a day or two and this hasn't.

(My t-cells were 600+ 5 mos ago.) It does not appear to be an infected follicle, and cannot be an STD as I am celibate. There is no discerable 'head' to this lump. 90% of it lies below the skin surface, and is about the size of a small walnut. It is painful to palpate, but is not otherwise a constant pain. I worry about lymphoma, or a large pus pocket that might lead to a systemic infection? It is reddened but not especially hot to the touch. I am in a large urban area on vaction for the next 3 weeks, and I'm 2,000 mi away from my regular doc. It's Saturday. What's your best guess as to what this is? Should I go to an ER, or to one of those 'urgent care centers' or keep an eye on it till Monday and call my reg. doc for advice? I'm thinking it needs to be aspirated to see if it's an infection, or a solid mass? Thanks for your thoughts...

  • Is McCain a coward for cancelling his debate with Obama, and using Wall St. as his excuse?

I'm sure he could squeeze in an important debate in this important election if he had the guts to?

  • Is this a good investment? '74 T-bird, 41k orig. mi., for $2k? see details....?

has 460 engine, stored 14 yrs by this guy's grandfather. All systems including a/c and radio work great, all fluids changed and a new muffler.

Tires are very good. Landau roof has a couple cracks in it. Chrome is near perfect. Has a bit of rust just starting near 2 wheel wells. Was undercoated when purchased in Ohio by grandpa. Leather seats are near mint, one side armrest shows wear. Brakes excellent. I'm not mechanically inclined, but have a hunch this big ol' car can only appreciate in value? Please talk me into it, or out of it, please? I checked ebay, and this car seems to be about $300 less than others there? Any other sites I might go to compare/find guidance? Thanks!

  • Aren't all poll results skewed these days? Any polling experts out there? (details)?

Most polls are conducted by phone these days, right? But most cell phones are unlisted numbers, right? So that means most all people who are polled or surveyed are using land-line phones. Yet I'm guessing that 50% of this nation uses a cell phone only. And; I'm thinking that demographically speaking, most of these cell phone-only folks are younger people, say under the age of 40. That would further suggest that those with land-lines are a more aged population, and thus (perhaps?) more conservative. I realize I'm generalizing, but am I wrong to conclude that 'younger' persons views are not truly reflected in national polls anymore?

  • Anyone know where I can get a copy of former Rep. Leach's speech from the convention?

  • Is there a 'national' data-base/website of obituaries/recorded deaths?

I've lost track of nearly a dozen friends/associates over the years, and I suspect that some of them have passed away. Is there a simple website I could go to, as these folks lived across the span of several different states.? Thanks much

  • Will, i.e., 'Liquid Plumber' damage my garbage disposal in any way?

The drain seems stopped up in the trap below the garbage disposal? The disposal runs, but the water does not go down.

Will caustic chemicals hurt the rubber or mechanics of my garbage disposal? Thanks!

  • Curious: approx. how much does it cost to re-glaze an enamel tub?

This is a white, 70's-ish installed bathtub. I just need a rough estimate from a pro, or someone who's recently had one re-glazed. thanks!

  • Grrrrr....! Help with bathtub stains, please?

Bought this house, and there is a grungy greyish stain (covering most of the bottom, only) Tub is white enamel over iron type; installed around the 60's-70's. Stain appears to be just old accumulated grunge over the years. I've tried Comet, and even straight bleach to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks!

  • Is my Italian Greyhound suffering seizures, or panic attacks?

Twice in the past 48 hrs, my little Greyhound has suddenly rushed at me, desperate to get into my lap and be held and comforted. He's 7 yrs old. As he flees to me, he is totally uncoordinated in his movements. His pupils are wildly dilated.

He does not shake or convulse, yet he is clearly in a panic of some sort. I'm on vacation here, and my regular vet is 2,000 miles away. After about 5 minutes of being held, he seems perfectly fine and calm. Should I get him to a vet ASAP? Or, should I wait 3 mos and take him to the vet he knows the best?

Are seizure disorders common to this breed?

    Thanks....

  • Can I bury myself on my own land? Is there a website with info?

I have this crazy idea.... I'd like to buy a tiny plot of land far off in the rural countryside. I would turn it into a perennial garden and build my own monument. But then, I'd like to be buried there someday. Is this possible? What kind of hurdles would I have to go thru to achieve this? Thanks.....
