What is the best college in the U.S. to get an automotive degree?

My son will be a freshmen in high school this fall and wants to be a mechanic when he grows up...just wondering what are some good colleges that he could explore. Thanks!

The nice thing about choosing to be a mechanic is that all you really need to get in is an associates degree rather than a bachelors. And they start off with some good money, around $19 to $25 an hour. A friend of mine went to TSTC in Waco, TX for this a few years back, as it's considered the top automotive technical school in Texas. He even did the whole dorm thing there and he was out in about a year and a half. Good luck.

Try "U.S. News and World Report". It always lists the top ranking colleges based on several criteria. Keep in mind that these rankings may change over the years, as may your son's career path. Good luck to him.
