Who here is a real DOOL Fan?
I don't mean the kind that used to watch it or the kind that just turned it on two weeks ago but the honest to goodness dyed in the wool watching near every day fan.
Who here likes DAYS like that?

I started watched the show when it debuted in 1965. I was (of course) a child at that time.
I became extremely interested during the summer vacations in the 1970s. Doug & Julie were big back then.
In the 1980s, along came Stefano DiMera. As long as he graces my screen I will continue to be an avid fan.
As you know, for the past three years I have run a forum dedicated to Days of our Lives & featuring the latest spoilers.
I have done this out of love for the show & it's characters who have becomes almost "friends" as I have seen then Monday through Friday for over 40 years.
Salem is my "TV-Home". It's a great place to escape to when you need a bit of excitement after dealing with your own every day issues which may seem drab in comparison.
Each day, for several hours, I can be found at my forum:

Either posting spoilers or answering questions about past storylines & characters.
I consider myself to be a "true fan" of Days of our Lives.

I think I am a true fan. I was born in 1976 and as far back as I can remember my grandmother watched the show way back then, everyday. I stayed with her while my parents worked and got into the habit of watching. She is 80 this year and still watches daily. I watch when I am home (during the summer because I am a teacher) or I record/tivo when I am not home. Then I watch it as soon as possible, usually later that day while I walk on the treadmill. I can't remember a time in my life when I didn't watch this show. I only wish Another World still came on after!

I have been a long time Days fan. Who remembers Caliope and Eugene, Kim and Shane, LIz and Neil? Those were some great couples. The scenes with Caliope and Eugene were hilarious! Would love to have an ornament on Alice Horton's Christmas tree.

I've been watching DOOL for almost 10 years now. I watch it everyday, and the weekends I review the week. Its sad, but I love this soap.

I am also.
I am 31 years old and watched this show since I was a child in the 1980s. My mother watches this show also. My grandmother watches All My children. We tried to convert her but she is stuck in her ways.
I am very fond of Billie Reed. I know she is one that others hate but i find her to be very pleasing to the eye. In particular, I liked the last girl to play her. I think maybe this is why I like the soap operas because they have so many beautiful women. My ex used to hit me for staring sometimes. She stopped watching with me.
I gave all of you a thumbs up for being fellow fans of a great show.

I watch or DVR the show every day. Even when I am hating the storyline, I still watch.
My mom started watching Days when she was pregnant with me. It's funny because Addie was preggo with Hope at the same time my mom was preggo with me. Even funnier that Hope is now a grandmother and I am 35....
I miss some of the characters they have written off, but I am glad that others hang around. I wish that instead of killing or writing characters off, the writers would let them go dormant. Meaning, instead of writing Shawn and Belle off, just don't write storylines for them except for a cameo at a family party or a wedding/funeral every now and then-- kind of like how they do with Doug and Julie, Maggie, or Alice. I miss Shawn and Belle. (and speaking of Alice-- I wish they'd write a little something for Frances Reid-- she's the touchstone for both big families!)
I agree with what another poster said-- I miss Bart too! I thought he was hilarious!!! He and Stefano were great together.
I love the new John. I think he's funny. I can't wait to see wha tthey do wtih him and Stefano when they bring him out of his coma. I used to love Chelsea-- her biting wit and hilarious cuts were so entertaining-- but I think this thing with Daniel might be worth exploring. Her relationship with Nick was too safe. I wish they'd let Sami be happy for awhile and let her constant struggle go for awhile before bringing it back. It'd have more bite then.
I think I am one of the few who gets tired of the super couples. John and Marlena, Patch and Kayla, Julie and Doug, Bo and Hope. Yeah, they're in love, but do they have to make out in public all the time? I wish they could find good storylines for these guys without having them kidnapped.
I've got Thursday's episode and today's on my DVR-- I hate to be completely caught up because I HATE to have to wait if the story is juicy!
Source(s): Kind of watching since I was in the womb, but actively watching since 1984. - 1 decade ago
Me, me, pick me! I love Days! I record it every day and try to watch it that evening. If not I will watch them all on the weekend. (I would actually prefer that because then I fast forward through the commercials) Sometimes I can catch it on a break at work.
Love my Days for a loong time now!!!

I qualified when I was younger. I actually scheduled my college courses so I'd be home to watch it. Then when I got married and started working full time taping it was a pain because my husband couldn't stand it. Now that I'm a stay at home mom I'm watching it again but I'm at a point in my life that I can accept that I will not whither and die if I miss it now and then (most of the summer and Christmas vacation). I still don't record it and making sure I'm home to watch it every day will anchor me and deny my children activities that they will enjoy.
I also scheduled evening courses around Bruins games but that was mostly because it was fun to watch them with my Dad.
