He rocked at UF. Not that that really has anything to do with how he'll do as a pro, but it might give you some hope. Just tell yourself that this is just like the time you traded Bartolo Colon to the Expos for Cliff Lee, Grady Sizemore, and Brandon Phillips.

Dude, you got a good player and were going to lose CC to free agency at the end of the year, anyways.
The Indians offered him 4 years, $72 million and CC turned it down. Indians are out of the race and had to get something.
The Brewers even picked up CC's salary. It's really a no-brainer.
LaPorta was the #7 pick in the 2007 draft and currently has 20HR and 66RBI at AA.

Matt LaPorta...20HR and 20+ doubles in the minors...he's got power...Natural Power I am not sure...HGH possibly...but I am not criticizing...Cleveland needs hitting anyhow so it was a fair trade not skill wise but long term and financially.

Great player from what I hear. I took a look at his stats. If he's a bust, Cleveland is screwed for at least three more seasons.

Not answering this question - just a reply to your answer in my question.
You said Sosa used steroids and HGH and lied about not using it. Well..Do you know for a fact that he did use steroids or HGH?? No you dont. So why say he used them and lied about it if you dont even know for 100% that he did.
Then you say he was caught using "corked bats" well did you know that he was caught ONCE with ONE corked bat. Which is what he said a batting practice bat. id believe it, why not cork a bat for BP so you can hit balls on the street to the fans. And did you know that they checked all of his other bats for cork and ZERO of them had cork.
So u r wrong. It is not a fact that he took steroids and he was caught with 1 corked bat.

Trust me, he will be good.
He strikes out a ton, but he's a solid RBI/HR man. I look forward to seeing him play, being a Brewers fan.
Good luck to you!

He is a star in the making.
