This is surprisingly easy.
First flv is short for flash video, that is the native format for YouTube Videos.
The following are two excellent FREEWARE programs.
1) YouTube Downloader (YTD). It does just what the name implies. After you put the desired YouTube video on and playing, copy the address (http:// and so on) into your clipboard. You then press <window key> and m (the letter "m") together. That will bring you back to Windows while leaving your YT session running. BTW, this is reversed by pressing <shift><window key> and m together. Start YTD (you will want a shortcut key to that program on your desktop). Enter the address into the right place (obvious). Click on OK and click on the name area and press Ctrl-V again-it's a VERY nice program. I created a folder called C:\YTvideos (another shortcut key on the desktop). The first time that you run YTD, fill that in as the destination for the download. Start the program and run it until the download is finished.
Next download a program called flvplayer (If you are running Winamp 4.1 this is unnecessary.) Download it and install it (NO shortcut key). There are lots of these so pick one that is freeware.
From then on, if you double click on one of those flv files that you have downloaded from YT, flvplayer will immediately start playing that video.
EXTRA FACT: On most but not all of the YT videos (when you are in YT) if you add "&fmt=18" (no quotation marks) to the back of the address and press <enter> you will be using YT's recently developed high quality video player. Every once in a while that fails, so just go back to not using it. If you copy that address (for YouTubeDownloader, the enhancement in audio and video will appear in your downloaded YT flv file.
Enjoy it. Everything is free.

Downloading is when you take a video from a website onto you computer, uploading is when you put a video from your computer onto a website.
To download videos from www.youtube.com, go to http://keepvid.com/ and download the FLV player there. Don't worry, there's no viruses or anything. After you got the FLV player, copy the link of the youtube video that you want to download and paste it onto keepvid.com.
I don't know whether you want to know this, but you can watch full Naruto episodes on http://naruto-episode.net/

If you're using Firefox (and why wouldn't you?), there are various plugins available that let you save streamed .flv (Flash Video) files (such as YouTube videos) directly from your browser. I use DownloadHelper.
To play them back, you can just use your regular media software, provided you have installed .flv codecs. The ffdshow codec package contains working .flv codecs in a DirectShow wrapper that will let them work with most Windows players, including Media Player and Winamp.
