Can any car buffs tell me what the diagnostic code "TCC doesnt engage" means?
The check engine light came on so I went to autozone they did a diagnostic and thats what the computer said- "TCC doesnt engage". Short explanations for it said: poor electrical connection, failed TCC system or open/short circuit. My husband used to be a mechanic (i guess u always are one but hes been out of that line of daily work for some yrs now), that TCC thing has him stumped. All we know is its in the distributor thats what the salesman at the auto store said but he wasnt too knowledgeable either. Any one who really knows their stuff know what this means what I need fixed and about how much $? Its a 97 Honda Accord LX 110,000 mi recently was tuned up and oil changed by my husband he wouldnt screw the car up he knows how 2 do things still but is currently stumped! Thanks alot
can i continue to drive this for another day or two?

TCC = Torque Convertor Clutch. The problem lies within your automatic transmission.
You could either have loose/faulty wiring for the solenoid circuit, or the TCC solenoid inside the transmission is not working, so the torque convertor is not locking up.
The fix would be to verify the TCC wiring. Or maybe the solenoid(s) for TCC lockup will need to be replaced.

The code you describe has to do with the transmission and the torque converter. Do any of your lights for the shifter on the dash blink? You might need to talk to a Honda dealer about a tranny flush and inspection. Honda service bulletin 98-040

thats the switch that controls the torque converter. change that sensor or unplug it. now when you unplug it, your check engine light will stay on, but you can drive it, until you can get a new switch.
