CO2 cartridge for PFD?

I have two CO2 operated PFDs. One takes a 24 gram CO2 cartridge; the other, a 25 gram CO2 cartridge. I have two extra 25 gram cartridges. Can I use a 25 gram cartridge in the 24 gram PFD without causing it to burst? The engineer in me says that 4.2% more CO2 can't be an issue for the PFD, but maybe it is? I dunno for sure. Are any of you guys experts on PFDs?

I have never used an inflatable PFD, but i have used plenty of inflatable kayaks and rafts. We frequently adjust pressure to allow for conditions such as air and water temperature, atmospheric pressure, and river conditions. Four or five percent over-inflation should not be a problem. If you are concerned about PFD failure when you need it most, try it in safe, shallow water before you use it.

A sealed cartridge won't leak, even after a number of years.

the pfd should have a relief valve. to prevent it from bursting. it is normally round plastic dome with holes in it. if you can inflate it manually inflate it as much as you can then squeeze it air should escape from relief valve
