The American public and the Iraqi Government want US troops out of Iraq, so why does Bush keep his war going?

Bush is trying to push through an agreement with Iraq that would allow US troops to set up permanent bases to control Iraqi oil until it runs out.

The American people have seen enough of our troops killed and maimed in Bush's war based on Bush's lies about WMD.

The Iraqi government wants a timetable for the withdrawal of US troops before they will sign any security agreement with the US.

Bush wants to tie the hands of President Obama by turning Iraq into a colony of the US by continuing the occupation of Iraq forever with the help of a carefully crafted "security agreement".

In the meantime, US troops continue to be killed and maimed in Bush's war by Iraqi citizens who fight against the occupation of their country.

They are like the Minutemen of the US revolution-fighting for the sovereignty of their nation.

Besides his obvious desire to control Iraqi oil, why does Bush insist on continuing his war in Iraq despite the wishes of the American and Iraqi public?

The simple answer is, there is money to be made. Not only is the US taxpayer funding this war, but the rebuilding of Iraq as well. This will take decades to complete. Dick Cheney and Haliburton are looking a years of profits by staying in Iraq. GW Bush, family and friends are looking at oil revenues.

There is so much money on the table in Iraq, that they have ignored all of blood spilled by US soldiers. So many of our troops signed up to bring Al Qaeda terrorist to justice, and we were led down the WMD road of lies. When you think of all that have suffered so that a few could make millions it sickens my stomach.

Another person who only listens to half of the story and makes up the rest. McCain doesn't want to keep the Iraq war going for 100 years. He never said that. He never implied that. It is simply made up. He did say that there COULD BE troops in Iraq for 100 years but he has never even advocated that. He just mentioned the possibility once. I love how people try to tie Bush and McCain to oil companies but always forget that Al Gore's fortune all came from oil. Neither Bush nor McCain want the war to last 100 years. They have both called for the troops to be removed as soon as possible but Bush didn't want to set a time table without the Iraqi input. Now that the Iraqi's are ready to take over, the Bush administration has been discussing the timetable with them. The US public voted out the "Rubberstamp Republicans" in 2006 and instead got a bunch of Democrats that have continued to fund the war they were supposedly against without question. A lot of good it did.

Money and Greed for the higher ups in this country. How sad that the rich and powerful can manipulate the situation here and around the world to make themselves richer and more powerful and the little guy pays for it by rhetoric about being patriotic. Its all lies. America land of the NOT so free. And there isn't a damn thing YOU can do about it.

There is no "besides the obvious" that's it right there. He and his friends are getting very very very rich behind all this and he does not want the money to run out when his term ends.
