Working Out?

I'm just wondering: Will it be possible for me to get stronger and faster just by doing push-ups, sit-ups, and running long distances? I plan to do some sprinting, but I am just wondering what kind of results I can expect from this and how I should vary my workout. Buying equipment or a gym membership isn't really a viable option for me right now. Will I be able to get significantly stronger from doing these kinds of exercises?

yes, low weights high reps will give you definitions and a very good base for when you start lifting weights. You can also try getting a yoga video/dvd from the library. Isometric stretching is another way to train your muscle to work more efficiently and promote strength and lean muscle. These techniques don't help with size but with strength and lean muscle mass with helps with speed.

Yes Try and vary resistance, stance etc as your body will get used to the exercise, but If you keep upping the repititions you should definately get stronger
