World of Warcraft - How long for gear restore?

I wrote an email to the GM on Tuesday, telling them that my account was hacked and my gear was vendored, and asked that they restore it.

They replied that nite and said that they are going to investigate, and will e-mail me back. Then they changed my password for security (they told me it, I can still play my acct).

How long after that does it take for any action or response? I thought it would be faster than this.

It really depends on the circumstances of your hack, and how long it takes them to verify the contents of your account, etc.

I've seen (and known) people who had their items restored within 2 days (which, really, is quite quick when you think about it), and have also known people who got hacked 2 years ago and have still never gotten their items recovered.

I would hope that the process is smoother now than it was then, but the people are helpful, and the more information you can provide them about your account and information prior to the incident, the better.

All the best to you, and a speedy recovery!

My brother got hacked and got all of his stuff back within 2 days (plus some extra crap the hacker left behind) but he also noticed nearly right away as he is a regular player. I imagine their ability to restore your gear is greatly dependent on how far in to their records they have to look.

  • They mean well but you never know with the GMs I had a problem back a couple years ago with an issue with "pay on arrival" or whatever its called and I got my money back like a few months later.

    Good Luck!

Aw I'm sorry, that sucks...Especially since you may get your gear, but usually not the gems, enchants, etc.

I didn't get hacked, but the master looter gave my item to the wrong person & it took two weeks for Blizz to fix. I imagine that fixing more than one item would be even worse.

I know someone who got hacked though & it took just under two weeks for him to get his gear.

    Sorry it happened...good luck!
