Coming full circle?
What are some examples of bands coming back to full circle in their songs, albums, members, history etc.
Ex: Pink Floyd's Meddle Open and closes with the wind blowing.
Other examples may include change in style and going back to it, members leaving a coming back etc. Get creative with it :0)

I was just reading about OK Computer today, and found an interesting fact I hadn't noticed about the album's concept, which shows that the album contains a somewhat circular structure.
It starts off with a character surviving a car accident in the opening song Airbag. The final song on the album, The Tourist, contains the lines "they ask me where the hell I'm going, at a thousand feet per second" and "hey man, slow down".
[Edit] Another example, that also concerns lyrics/concepts is Pink Floyd's The Wall.
The first and last song contain (barely audible) lines that form a single sentence.
In The Flesh?: "...we came in?"
Outside The Wall : "Isn't this where..."

I'm really dating myself today.
Spirit's "The Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus" opens and ends with the same acoustic guitar chords and the line 'you have the world at your fingertips..."
and, when the Byrds got back together for a reunion album in the early 70s, the album opened with the tune "Full Circle" ---
Funny how the circle turns around
First you're up and then you're down again
Though the circle takes what it may give
Each time around it makes it live again
Funny how the circle is a wheel
And it can steal someone who is a friend
Funny how the circle takes you flying
And if it's right it brings it back again
Funny how the circle turns around
You think you're lost and then you're found again
Though you always look for what you know
Each time around is something new again
Funny how the circle is a wheel
And it can steal someone who is a friend
Funny how the circle takes you flying
And if it's right it brings it back again

Well, like you said, Pink Floyd does it a lot.
Meddle - Wind
DSOTM - Heartbeat
Wish You Were Here - Shine on you Crazy Diamond
Animals - Pigs on the Wing
The Wall - "Isn't this where... We came in"
I have so many more examples but I don't have the time.
Edit: I just bought Ensiferum's Victory Songs (You must buy that album if you love yourself), and the first and last song all have the same glorious melody, the album ends with a slow bagpipe drone of that melody.

The original Dinosaur Jr. lineup got back together last year and recorded their first album of new material since 1988's Bug. I'm going to see them in NYC in the fall and I'm excited.
I've heard Metallica say they are coming full circle or going back to their roots on their new album. I doubt it, but we'll see.
Stone Temple Pilots just reunited (I saw them) and supposedly they are making a new album. I also doubt this. Scott Weiland is too much of a hassle.
I'll edit if I think of some more.
np: Elliott Smith - Speed Trials

Well, my example, isn't very creative, but the first song on the album, Frances The Mute (The Mars Volta), is a 12 minute song, and the first two minutes are used again, as the last song.

I was hoping to come up with something better than this, but...
Fleetwood Mac had their most famous album with 1977's "Rumours".
20 years later, that line-up reunited for a live tour and album, playing 7 of the 11 songs from that album, plus the one that should have originally been on there 'Silver Springs'.

I always thought Clapton made a good example. He was at one time full blues, and then as he experimented with music (and drugs, alcohol, etc) He played rock, reggae, and even a little country. But when he came out with the Unplugged album, it was a full circle comeback to those blues man

Not sure if this is totally what you're looking for, but Nightwish's "The Poet and the Pendulum" begins with the line 'The end' and ends with the line 'The beginning'. Seems like a circle to me. :P
Also there was a song, I think it was "Children" by Robert Miles, that started off slow, gradually build up, then slowed back down again at the end.

Led Zeppelin's Career began (Good Times Bad Times) and ended (I'm Gonna Crawl) with Blues Rock songs.
