Can someone tell me the name of a good movie that is "historic and set in a non-western culture".?

Can someone tell me the name of a good movie that is "historic and set in a non-western culture". I need to watch a movie like this for a history class! A few examples the teacher gave are: Gandhi, Last Empereor, Cry Freedom and Hotel Rwanda. I was hoping to find something that wasnt listed so she wouldnt have to read 30 papers on the same movie! Thanks in advance!

"The Killing Fields" is an excellent movie about the Khmer Rouge rule in Cambodia.

"Empire of the Sun" is set against World War 2 and the Japanese invasion of British territories in China.

    Kagemusha (1980)

    IMDb synopsis:

In 1572, there is a civil war in Japan, and three powerful clans, leaded by the lords Shingen Takeda (Tatsuya Nakadai), Nobunaga Oda (Daisuke Ryu) and Ieyasu Tokugawa (Masayuki Yui), dispute the conquest of Kyoto. When Shingen is mortally wounded, the Takeda clan hides the incident and uses a poor thief to be the double of the strategist Shingen and keep the respect of their enemies. Along the years, Kagemusha incorporates the spirit of the warrior of the dead warlord.

    From IMDb:

Much of the film recounts actual historical events, including Shingen's death and the two-year secret, and the climactic Battle of Nagashino in 1575. Those scenes are also modeled closely on detailed accounts of the battle.

The title means "Shadow Warrior" in Japanese.

I'm not sure if this will help you. I'll try to think of others. I've passed on many because of the presence of a Western character though the film might be OK otherwise.
