Blonde Highlighting product suggestions?
I need to have my hair re-highlighted. Unfortunately, I dont have the extra cash to go to to my normal stylist. I have been having my hair highlighted blonde for quite some time. I have dark blonde hair to begin with! I am looking for some tips on what products to use. I have a skilled friend who is going to do the process for me. I would like to use the foiling system since that is how my stylist normally does. Also, if someone could tell me what exactly I need to buy from Sally's that would be wonderful! Thanks!
3 AnswersHair1 decade agoIs it possible to reshape a Mommy body?
I have had two children. The youngest is 10 months old. Both of my babies were large and I gained nearly 50 pounds with each. We are officially done with having children and I would like to get in shape. I want to look and feel good again. I weigh between 165-70 right now, I am 5'7.5" tall. I would really like to get down to 140 (or less). Is it possible to lose the flabby baby belly I have? What is a good goal per month for me to reach? I would love to hear some success stories of other Mommies.

7 AnswersChristmas1 decade agoHindu temple practices...quick questions!?
I visited a pluralist Hindu Temple last week. During the puja members of the Temple twirled a gold tray of candles around. What is that called? And also, near the end of the puja the priest offered a water substance the the members drank and then splashed on their heads. It tasted spicy and floral-ish. What was that? Thanks!

4 AnswersOther - Holidays1 decade agoBi-racial child that looks caucasion? Is it possible?
I have a Caucasian friend who is married to a bi-racial man (African American and Caucasian.) They have two children. Their oldest is a little girl. She looks very much bi-racial. She has a beautiful medium complexion, dark hair and dark eyes. The youngest is a baby. He looks full Caucasian, blonde hair and blue eyes. The Mom is a natural dark blonde with blue eyes and the Dad is dark hair and green eyes. He has a light complexion. Whats the likely hood of two children, from the same parents to look totally different? Do you know of two kids of bi-racial parents that look nothing alike? Or does this sound a little fishy?
24 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoHelp with side swept bangs!?
I really want to get a new style and really like the way the deep side swept bangs look. My question is this-I have parted my hair on the side for YEARS and my hair just naturally doesnt fall on my forehead. Do I keep the part on the same side and just go deeper or do I work it from the other to get the desired look? HELP!
3 AnswersHair1 decade agoWill my passive toddler grow out of his "temperament?"?
I have a very loving 3 year old, who is very passive. The other little boys his age at daycare a wrestling around and being "boys" while my little boy just kind of plays by himself. I know periodically he plays with them, I just never see him being very aggressive (not necessarily in a bad way.) He loves doing boy things like basketball, baseball and things like that. When it comes to meeting new kids, he pretty much climbs my leg. It takes him a LONG time to warm up. I am a very social and assertive person so it's hard for me to grasp the idea of having a "shy" child. Is it possible that once he gets older he will grow out of his passivity? I don't want him to be a bully, I just want him to be more assertive/strong.
Does anyone have advice for a social butterfly Mom who has a super-shy passive child?

1 AnswerCruise Travel1 decade agoCruising Carnival Glory and have a question about clothes.?
My husband and I have cruised with Celebrity and Norwegian before and will be cruising with Carnival in two weeks. To put it pretty frank, my family doesn't like to dress up. And I am always concerned that we wont be dressed appropriately for the dining area. It's not really me I am worried about but my husband and father-in-law. For those of you who have cruised with Carnival, more specifically on the Glory, any input you may have on what you feel was the norm while sailing would be greatly appreciated! THANKS! And I am also curious how the food was-what kind of variety did they have?

My daughter was born on Valentines day and will be turning 1 next February. I have started to think about what I would like to do for her. My son (who is 3) has had some really cool birthdays and I would like to continue that with her. I have a question though, would you do a Valentines/Love themed party? I was also thinking of doing a "Winter One-der Land" theme because we live in MI and it will be still cold here. I need some input on how you would handle this very special birthday!

1 AnswerHistory1 decade agoWho are the women that resemble amish/mennonites?
Recently, I have been seeing a lot of women who have been dressed very modestly (basic dresses) and are wearing a cover over their hair. The men they are with are regularly dressed. The kids, if a little girl wear dresses but the males look "normal." Who are these people? I know they aren't Amish or Mennonites because of the way the men are dressed, and its evident they are married! Help solve this mystery!

The bee was HUGE! We live in Michigan and were having yard sale at a friends house. She has A LOT of big trees! The bee was about 3" long and it's body was as big around if not bigger than a McDonalds straw. It was hauling off a half dead moth that was the same size as it was! My husband and I tried to capture it, but it got away! What was this GIANT thing?
